Christophe DANIEL Curriculum
Christophe Daniel obtained a European Ph.D. at the University Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg, France) in 1996 under the supervision of prof. Jean-Michel Guenet discussing a thesis focussing on the thermoreversible gelation of syndiotactic polystyrene.
Following his Ph.D. he worked as Senior R&D Polymer Physicist at Ethyl Petroleum Additives Corp. (Richmond, VA) between 10/1996 and 08/1998 studying the gelation of ethylene-propylene random copolymers and the influence of polymer additives on rheological properties of lubricants.
In September 1998 he was recruited as Postodoctoral Research Associate at the University of Leeds in the Chemistry Department where he stayed 14 months working with prof. Ian Hamley on rheological properties and phase organization of block copolymer melts and block copolymer gels.
In November 1999 he joined the Chemistry Department of the University of Salerno as Postdoctoral Resarch Fellow working in the group of prof. Gaetano Guerra and in January 2004 he was appointed as Assistant Professor until May 2016 when he was promoted to Associate Professor.
Christophe 's interests lie within the polymer science field with particular emphasis on the understanding of structure-properties relationship in complex polymeric systems. Of current interest is the study of the organization of syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS) and poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene)oxide (PPO) in gels, aerogels and in crystalline molecular complexes obtained with low-molecular-mass compounds.
He has published more than 100 scientific papers including book chapters and industrial patents.
