Gianluca DE MARCO Curriculum
Gianluca De Marco is an associate professor at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Salerno. He obtained a laurea degree in Computer Science in 1996 from the University of Salerno. In 2001, at the same University, he completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science. From 2001 to 2005, he has been at the Institute of Computational Mathematics and the Institute of Informatics and Telematics of CNR, in the research area of Pisa. During his research career, he has been a guest at several foreign institutions, including the ``Département d’Informatique et d’Ingénierie'' at the University of Québec (Ottawa, Canada), the ``Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique'' of CNRS (Sophia Antipolis, France), the Computer Science Department of the University of Liverpool (Liverpool, UK), and the Institute of Computer Science of the University of Wrocław (Wrocław, Poland).
His research activities focus on the design and analysis of algorithms, primarily in two areas of theoretical computer science: distributed computing and combinatorial search. Currently, he is interested in developing efficient algorithms for communication and information dissemination in radio networks and multiple access channels.
He has participated in numerous national and international research projects. From 2015 to 2017, he was one of the scientific coordinators of the project "Distributed Computing in Dynamic Networks" funded by the National Science Center of Poland. He has served on the program committees of various international conferences and has conducted peer reviews for leading journals and conferences in theoretical computer science. He has also served as a reviewer for research project funding in Canada (NSERC). Since 2017, he has been a member of the editorial board of the international journal "Fundamenta Informaticae" (IOS Press).
