Iolanda DE MARCO Curriculum

Iolanda De Marco graduated in Chemical Engineering, summa cum laude in 2000, then she gained the PhD degree in Chemical Engineering in 2003, at the University of Salerno, Italy. She obtained a post-doc grant and two research fellowships at the Department of Chemical and Food Engineering, University of Salerno. She has been Assistant Professor (from 2010) and Associate Professor (from 2016) in Chemical Plants at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the same University. Starting from 2021, she is Full Professor in the same Department. Her research activity was developed at the University of Salerno and is mainly related to processes assisted by supercritical fluids, such as production of micro and nanoparticles, scaffolds formation, supercritical adsorption. Her research activity is experimental, related on thermodynamic analysis of the involved phenomena and modeling. Her recent interests are also related to the life cycle assessment of different products and processes. Her didactic activity is performe d in the “Chemical plants design” group. Moreover, she is advisor and co-advisor for various thesis and PhD thesis in Chemical Engineering. She has been guest editor for two special issues of the international journals: "The Journal of Supercritical Fluids" and "Materials". She is referee for different international journals (ISI journals), and, until now, she reviewed more than 150 papers. She produced about 180 papers, of which 120 are published on international journals, 4 are chapters of international books, the other are papers presented at international Conferences. Her scopus indexed articles have received 3900 citations and her Hirsch index is equal to 35. Currently, she is the Madam Chair of the Chemical and Food Engineering Programme Board.
