Antonio DI CRESCENZO Curriculum

Antonio Di Crescenzo is a member of the Department of Mathematics and a member of the Advisory Board of the Graduate School in Mathematics at University of Salerno.

2018-now: Full professor of Probability and Mathematical Statistics, University of Salerno.
2001-2018: Associate professor of Probability and Mathematical Statistics, University of Salerno.
1998-2001: Associate professor of Probability and Mathematical Statistics, University of Basilicata, at Potenza.
1995-1999: Lecturer of Probability Theory for mathematics students, Second University of Naples, at Caserta.
1991-1998: Research associate at the University of Naples Federico II, University of Naples Federico II.
1996: Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Informatics, University of Naples Federico II.
1988: Degree in Information Science, University of Salerno.

He is a member of the Group of Evaluation Experts for the Evaluation of Research Quality (VQR 2020-2024 and VQR 2015-2019) Area 1 - Mathematical and Computer Sciences, of the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System (ANVUR).

From September 2020 he is the head of the PRISMA Group (PRobability In Statistics, Mathematics and Applications) of the Italian Mathematical Union.

He is the national coordinator and the head of the Research Unit of the University of Salerno for the project PRIN 2022 PNRR, project P2022XSF5H "Stochastic Models in Biomathematics and Applications" funded by MIUR.

He is the head of the Research Unit of the University of Salerno for the PRIN-2022, project 2022XZSAFN "Anomalous Phenomena on Regular and Irregular Domains: Approximating Complexity for the Applied Sciences" funded by MIUR (national coordinator: prof. Mirko D'Ovidio).

He has been the head of the Research Unit of the University of Salerno for the PRIN-2017 project "Stochastic Models for Complex Systems" (2019-2023) funded by MIUR (national coordinator: prof. Fabrizio Durante).

From May 28th, 2020, he is serving as Chair of the Mathematics Program at the University of Salerno.

He is included in the REPRISE "Register of Expert Peer Reviewers for Italian Scientific Evaluation" in the Basic Research section and in the Dissemination of Scientific Culture section.

He directed the Mathematics project of the National "Piano Lauree Scientifiche" at the University of Salerno.

He was responsible for the orientation activities for the incoming students of the Bachelor Degree in Mathematics and of the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences of the University of Salerno.

His research interests include stochastic modeling, theory and simulation of stochastic processes with applications to biomathematics, queueing systems, reliability theory, aging notions and information measures.

He is author of about 100 publications, appeared mainly in international journals and Proceedings of International Meetings.

He co-organized several International Meetings and participated in more than 80 international scientific meetings, specially in applications of probability, in biomathematics and biocybernetics.
