Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH ADVANCED THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE FOR THE SOCIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF EDUCATIONAL PROCESSES IN SPORTS AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES. THE COURSE ALSO INTENDS TO OFFER THE POSSIBILITY OF DEVELOPING THE ABILITY TO APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE IN THE MANAGEMENT OF SPORT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES, WITH A VIEW TO SPREADING SOCIAL WELL-BEING AND ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS. STUDENTS HAVE TO DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY HAVE ACQUIRED AN ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN ANALYTICAL PERSPECTIVES AND KEY CONCEPTS OF THE DISCIPLINE, WITH SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO THOSE INVOLVING THE MANAGEMENT OF SPORTS AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES, AS WELL AS UNDERSTANDING SKILLS THAT ALLOW THEM TO DEVELOP ORIGINAL AND INNOVATIVE INTERPRETATIONS FOR THE SOCIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF EDUCATIONAL PROCESSES IN SPORTS AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS. STUDENTS HAVE TO DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY HAVE ACQUIRED THE ABILITY TO APPLY THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND INTEGRATE THE INFORMATION AVAILABLE FOR THE ANALYSIS, DESIGN, ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT OF SERVICES AND FACILITIES FOR SPORT, PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND SOCIAL WELL-BEING IN A EDUCATIONAL PERSPECTIVE. FURTHERMORE, THE AIM IS FOR STUDENTS TO DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY HAVE ACQUIRED THE ABILITY TO PLAN, COORDINATE AND DIRECT SPORTS ACTIVITIES WITHIN SPORTS ASSOCIATIONS, CLUBS AND ORGANISATIONS, ALSO IN TERMS OF SOCIO-EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT POLICIES, DIFFUSION OF ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP AND PROMOTION OF SOCIAL WELL-BEING.

IN THE FIRST PART OF THE COURSE, THE MAIN THEORETICAL APPROACHES OF THE DISCIPLINE AND THE MOST IMPORTANT CONCEPTS AND TOPICS IN THE CONTEMPORARY DEBATE WILL BE PRESENTED AND DISCUSSED.

IN THE SECOND PART THE ASPECTS AND PROBLEMS THAT CHARACTERIZE THE TRANSFORMATIONS OF THE EDUCATION-SOCIETY RELATIONSHIP WILL BE ANALYZED, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE ROLE OF SPORTS AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES IN THE " CONTINUUM OF EDUCATION" BETWEEN THE FORMAL, NON-FORMAL AND INFORMAL DIMENSIONS.
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE CONSISTS OF 40 HOURS OF FACE TO FACE CLASS INSTRUCTION.
DURING LECTURES, THE PRESENTATION OF CONTENTS WILL BE SUPPORTED BY EXAMPLES, CASE STUDY ILLUSTRATIONS AND MEETINGS WITH EXPERTS.
Verification of learning
STUDENTS WILL BE ASSESSED DURING THE FINAL EXAMINATION THAT WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE BASIS OF THE CALENDAR DEFINED BY THE DEPARTMENT.
INTERMEDIATE TESTS ARE NOT FORESEEN.
THE EXAM CONSISTS OF A FINAL ORAL INTERVIEW, AIMED AT EVALUATING THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS.
THE GRADE WILL BE EXPRESSED IN A SCALE RANGING FROM 18 TO 30, WITH POSSIBLE MARKS. THE GRADING IS ATTRIBUTED TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE FOLLOWING DIMENSIONS: KNOWLEDGE OF CONTENTS, ADEQUACY OF THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL REFERENCES, ABILITY TO PROPOSE COHERENT EXEMPLIFICATIONS, CLARITY OF THE ARGUMENT, LANGUAGE PROPERTY.
