THE COURSE CONTRIBUTES TO THE TRAINING OF ENGINEERS ABLE TO USE TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS FOR ASSISTED DESIGN OF COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES. IT IS ORIENTED TO INTEGRATED VIRTUAL DESIGN BY PROVIDING CONTENT RELATED TO THE MAIN THREE-DIMENSIONAL GRAPHICAL AND GEOMETRIC MODELING METHODS ASSISTED BY THE COMPUTER, THE DESIGNING PROCEDURES AND THE GENERATION OF RELEVANT DOCUMENTATION, AND INTEGRATION WITH THE SIZING AND / OR CHOICE OF MECHANICAL COMPONENTS. IT ALSO PROVIDES INSIGHTS INTO THE MAIN DESIGN AID TOOLS WITHIN THE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT CYCLE AND ON REVERSE ENGINEERING, RAPID PROTOTYPING AND CAXX MODELING. AT THE END OF THE COURSE, THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO - UNDERSTAND THE TERMINOLOGY USED IN 3D MODELING; TO KNOW THE MAIN 3D MODEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND THE METHODOLOGIES FOR ANALYZING AND DESIGNING A VIRTUAL DESIGN SYSTEM. - USE THE MAJOR 3D MODELING TOOLS AND PROCEDURES FOR USING VIRTUAL MODELS WITH SIMULATION SOFTWARE. - CHOOSE THE RIGHT TRADING TOOLS AS NEEDED AND IDENTIFY THE MOST APPROPRIATE METHODS FOR USING THEM, POSSIBLY CUSTOMIZING THEM TO OPTIMIZE THE DESIGN PROCESS - WORK TOGETHER AND PRODUCE AND SUBMIT PROJECT DOCUMENTATION USING TECHNICAL TERMINOLOGY CORRECTLY. - APPLY THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE ALSO BY USING DIFFERENT SOFTWARE, EVEN IN DIFFERENT AREAS, AND EXTEND THEM TO THE THEMES PROPOSED IN THE MASTER DEGREE PROGRAMS FOR SURFACE MODELING AND THE USE OF OTHER VIRTUAL ANALYSIS TOOLS |

THE WORK ON THE SUBJECT PROPOSED DURING THE COURSE SHOULD BE MADE UP OF A TECHNICAL REPORT THAT DESCRIBES THE CONTEXT AND DESIGN CHOICES UP TO THE BATCH, FROM THE COMPLETE 3D MODEL AND FROM THE ASSEMBLY OF NON-COMMERCIAL COMPONENTS AND ASSEMBLIES. |
