KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
ACHIEVEMENT OF KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL CAPACITIES ON TOPICS ABOUT THE EVOLUTIVE SCENARIOS OF CAPITALISTIC PROMOTION OF SPECIAL ANALYTICAL ABILITY IN RELATION TO TOPICS OF PUBLIC DEBT, STATE FINANCE, AGRICULTURE, SECONDARY SECTOR, TRADE, TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS, PUBLIC INTERVENTIONS AND BANKS
- OPERATIVE SKILLS
STUDENTS MUST BE ABLE TO APPLY THEIR KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING SKILLS, AND THEIR ABILITY TO SOLVE PROBLEMS IN CONTEXTS ECONOMIC
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO DEVELOP AND TO INTERPRETE THE MAIN MACROECONOMIC PHENOMENA (ECONOMIC GROWTH PROCESSES, DEVELOPMENT MODELS OF CAPITALIST ECONOMICS, CHANGE IN THE INTERNATIONAL INTEGRATION PROCESS, GLOBALIZATION) IN A DIACRONIC PERSPECTIVE.

A BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF ECONOMICS IS RECOMMENDED.

THE COURSE IS STRUCTURED IN THREE SECTIONS:
A)GENERAL SECTION
ANALYSIS OF FUNDAMENTAL TOPICS AND BASIC GLOSSARY OF DISCIPLINE. STUDY OF THE DIFFERENT THEORIES OF ECONOMIC CYCLES. GREAT DIVERGENCE AND LITTLE DIVERGENCE. ANALYSIS OF STADIAL MODELS. ANALYSIS OF PRINCIPAL TECHNOLOGICAL PARADIGMS. MONETARY AND BANKING INSTRUMENTS

B)INTERNATIONAL SECTION
ANALYSIS OF DIFFERENT NATIONAL ECONOMIES DURING MODERN AGE. THE FORMATION OF NATIONAL STATES. THE PROCESS OF INDUSTRIALIZATION IN EUROPE. COLONIALISM AND IMPERIALISM IN THE XIX CENTURY. THE BELLE ÉPOQUE SCENARIOS. THE WAR ECONOMY DURING THE FIRST WORLD WAR. THE GREAT DEPRESSION OF THE 1930’S. KEYNESIAN POLICIES. DIRIGISM AND AUTARCHY. THE SECOND WORLD WAR AND THE RECONSTRUCTION. THE NEW FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS OF BRETTON WOODS. WORLD AND EUROPEAN ECONOMY SCENARIOS IN THE LAST 30 YEAR OF XX CENTURY. THE GLOBALIZATION.
C)ITALIAN SECTION
ECONOMIC PROBLEMS AT THE TIME OF ITALY’S UNIFICATION: MONEY, BANKS, CUSTOMS, PUBLIC DEBT, THE ECONOMIC SECTORS. THE DIFFERENT APPROACHES OF ECONOMIC POLICY OF THE RIGHT HAND PARTY AND LEFT HAND PARTY. THE ECONOMIC TAKE OVER DURING GIOLITTI’S GOVERNMENT. THE FASCISM AND AUTARCHY. THE ENTREPRENEURIAL STATE. ECONOMIC PROBLEMS AFTER WORLD WAR II. THE "ECONOMIC MIRACLE". THE INTERNATIONAL INTEGRATION.
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE PROVIDES AN ORAL FINAL TEST, IN ORDER TO CHECK THE STUDENT'S CAPACITY TO CRITICALLY AND DIACRONICALLY ANALYZE THE MAIN SOCIO-ECONOMIC PHENOMENON STUDIED, IN DIFFERENT TERRITORIAL CONTESTS AND IN DIFFERENT PHASES OF WORLD ECONOMIC HISTORY.
THE ACHIEVING OF THE LEARNING GOALS IS CERTIFIED BY AN EXAMINATION WITH A FINAL SCORE EXPRESSED IN 1/30.
THE EVALUATION WILL BE EXPRESSED IN THIRTIETHS. THE FINAL EVALUATION IS OBTAINED AS THE AVERAGE OF THE PARTIAL EVALUATIONS.
THE MINIMUM LEVEL OF EVALUATION (18) IS ASSIGNED WHEN THE STUDENT HAS A FRAGMENTED KNOWLEDGE OF THE THEORETICAL CONTENTS AND SHOWS A LIMITED ABILITY TO USE THEM IN THE CONTEXT OF THE STUDY.
THE MAXIMUM LEVEL (30) IS ASSIGNED WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES A COMPLETE AND IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE METHODOLOGIES AND TOOLS AND HAS A CONSIDERABLE ABILITY TO USE THEM IN THE CONTEXT OF STUDY.
PRAISE IS GIVEN WHEN THE CANDIDATE DEMONSTRATES SIGNIFICANT MASTERY OF THE METHODOLOGIES AND TOOLS AND SHOWS REMARKABLE OWNERSHIP OF LANGUAGE AND AUTONOMOUS PROCESSING SKILLS EVEN IN CONTEXTS DIFFERENT FROM THOSE PROPOSED BY THE TEACHER.
Verification of learning
