Paola ATTOLINO Curriculum

Paola ATTOLINO is Associate Professor of English Language and Translation at the University of Salerno, Department of Political and Social Studies. Since 2000 she has taught at Political Science courses. She graduated from the same Faculty researching a thesis on the relationship between Rap Music and Politics. Her research interests focus on evaluation in language, sociolinguistics, argumentative discourse (especially political language and language of the press) and non-standard English. She has variously published on these topics. Her more recent research interests are on the role of English in CMC and e-learning. She has participated in numerous research projects dealing with the relationship among language, identity, ideology and culture. She gives specialised seminars and taught modules of ESP in various academic institutions. She has participated into numerous international conferences on English, sociolinguistics and intercultural relations. She is the Responsible for the Internationalization of the Department of Political and Social Studies and she has been a visiting professor at numerous European universities in the framework of the Erasmus Teaching Staff Mobility. She has taught Didactics of English as a Foreign Language at TFA and PAS courses. She is a member of AIA (Italian Association for the Study of English) and ESSE (European Society for the Study of English). She is a voice donor in English for the blind with the Oral Book International Centre. She is in charge of the Lyrics Page of www.stewartcopeland.net. She has collaborated with the online magazine of music and musicology www.musicaround.net.
