Objectives
EDUCATIONAL AIMS
THE COURSE AIMS TO MAKE STUDENTS ACQUIRE THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN SOCIOLOGICAL CATEGORIES, THE AUTHORS OF REFERENCE, AND THE INTERPRETATIVE APPROACHES PROPOSED BY THEM. THE TEACHING WILL EXPLAIN THE SPECIFICS AND FACTORS OF THE TRANSFORMATIONS OF MODERN SOCIETIES AND WILL ALSO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THE ANALYTICAL CATEGORIES APPLICABLE TO DAILY LIFE FOR THE ANALYSIS, UNDERSTANDING AND INTERPRETATION OF A PHENOMENON.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE TEACHING WILL PROVIDE A KNOWLEDGE THAT WILL ALLOW STUDENTS STARTING THEIR UNIVERSITY PATH, TO KNOW THE BASICS NECESSARY TO FACE SOCIOLOGY STUDIES, OFFERING THEM THE TOOLS TO START LOOKING AT REALITY FROM A SOCIOLOGICAL POINT OF VIEW, PROVIDING THEM WITH THE 'VOCABULARY 'NECESSARY TO START TALKING ABOUT SOCIOLOGY AND PROVIDING THEM WITH THE' CONCEPTUAL MAP 'TO UNDERTAKE THE JOURNEY IN THE DISCIPLINE, ACQUIRING IN THE SPECIFIC MASTERY OF THE BASIC SOCIOLOGICAL VOCABULARY AND THE KEY CONCEPTS TO READ THE SOCIAL REALITY.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE COURSE AIMS TO TRANSFER TO THE STUDENTS SKILLS THAT ALLOW THEM TO COMMUNICATE THE APPROACHES AND THE CATEGORIES STUDIED. STUDENTS WILL ACQUIRE THE METHOD AND LEARNING SKILLS NECESSARY TO UNDERTAKE FURTHER STUDIES AND IN-DEPTH STUDIES.

AIM OF THE TEACHING IS A DEEP AND CONTINUAL CRITICAL EXPLANATION OF SOCIOLOGICAL THEMES AND CONCEPTS WITH MAIN REFERENCE TO THEORETICAL APPROACH CONNECTED TO MODERN INNOVATIONS.
THE TEACHING IS ORGANIZED IN THIS WAY:
I. THINKING SOCIOLOGICALLY
WATH’S SOCIOLOGY, THE PROCESS OF HISTORICAL AND ECONOMIC CHANGE, WHY WE DEFINE SOCIOLOGY AS A SCIENCE OF SOCIAL PHENOMENONS, THE GROWTH AND SHIFT OF SOCIOLOGICAL PARADIGMS AND CATEGORIES.
II. INDIVIDUAL AND SOCIETY

THE CONNECTION BETWEEN INDIVIDUAL AND SOCIETY FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF A SOCIAL CONSTRUCTION OF REALITY: ALONG THIS WE ANALYZES CULTURE, THE GROWING OF SELF, INDIVIDUAL AND COLLECTIVE, THE PROCESSES OF SOCIALIZATION, DEVIANCE, GENDER, COHORTS, INEQUALITIES.

III SOCIAL STRUCTURE AND INSTITUTIONS
THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN SUBJECT, SOCIAL STRUCTURES, INSTITUTIONS, WITH EXPECIAL REFERENCE TO CATEGORIES OF FAMILY, SCHOOL, RELIGION, POWER, ASSOCIATIONS AND THE GLOBAL/LOCAL DUALISM.

Verification of learning
THE FINAL EXAMINATION WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE EXAMINATION DATES SET AVAILABLE AT HTTPS://CORSI.UNISA.IT/03123/DIDATTICA/CALENDARI.
AN ORAL TEST WILL BE HELD AT LEAST 15 DAYS AFTER THE END OF THE COURSE IN ORDER TO ASSESS THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ACQUIRED.
THE GRADE WILL BE EXPRESSED IN THIRTIETHS: A MINIMUM OF 18 AND A MAXIMUM OF 30, WITH POSSIBLE DISTINCTION. GRADES WILL BE AWARDED TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE FOLLOWING DIMENSIONS MASTERY OF CONTENT, APPROPRIATENESS OF THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL REFERENCES, ABILITY TO PROPOSE EXAMPLES, CLARITY OF ARGUMENTATION, QUALITY OF LANGUAGE.
