Graduated in Architecture on 23.01.1996, specialising in the “Protection and recovery of the historical-architectural heritage” at the University of Naples “Federico II”, with 110/110, cum laude and dignity of press.
Qualified as ASN Full Professor in macro sector 08/C1 DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGICAL DESIGN OF ARCHITECTURE
Qualified to practice as an Architect
PhD in “Structural engineering and building and urban recovery”; awarded in 2005 by the University of Salerno, with a thesis entitled: “The enhancement of small towns: Strategies for integrated conservation”.
Research Fellow at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Salerno, on the project: “Disused buildings for worship. Between conservation, recovery and new uses”, in the disciplinary sector ICAR10.
Member of the Research Group of Relevant National Interest (Prin) entitled “Opportunities for rebirth for deconsecrated churches” in the two-year period 2003-2005.
Specialized in the “Integrated Conservation of Architectural and Urban Heritage”, University of Naples Federico II, Department of Conservation of Architectural and Environmental Heritage, in 2007.
In 2008 he was a Researcher and Adjunct Professor of Technical Architecture (ICAR/10) at the University of Salerno and since 2018 he has been an Associate Professor of the same sector.
He has taught on the degree courses in Civil Engineering and Building Engineering-Architecture, the subjects in relation to the disciplinary sector ICAR/10 (Technical Architecture, Technical Architecture I, Technical Architecture II, Construction Site Organization).
From 2008 to 2013 he was a member of the Board of Professors of the PhD in Structural Engineering and Building Recovery and, since 2014, he has been a member of the Board of Professors of the PhD in Civil, Construction-Architecture, Environmental and Territory Engineering.
He is the chair of the course in Technical Architecture (2nd year) at the Department of Engineering of the University of Salerno (three-year degree course in Civil Engineering).
Member of the Research Commission of the Board of the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Salerno.
Scientific coordinator of the research project “The sustainable reuse of disused building heritage. Analysis of the problems and intervention strategies” (2019) and co-scientific coordinator of the Research Project entitled: “Methods and procedures for the recycling of organic materials and their reuse in energy efficiency in civil uses” (2015).
In 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2018, he was an aggregate expert member of the State Examination Commissions for the profession of Engineer at the Department of Engineering of the University of Salerno.
In the 2012 session, he obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor in the macro-sector 08/C1 – Design and Technological Design of Architecture.
He has been a referee (MIUR assignment) for research projects “Future in Research 2013”, evaluating the projects regarding the technological elements for the energy efficiency of buildings and in 2020 for research projects Fisr2020 - Research projects COVID-19.
He has worked and continues to be a tutor for doctoral students enrolled at the doctoral school of the Department of Civil Engineering.
He is delegate of the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Salerno, in the Central Disability/SLD Commission of the University of Salerno.
He is the author of numerous printed contributions in the proceedings of national and international conferences, as well as articles in magazines and monographs in the field of building restoration and, more broadly, of technological issues related to architecture.
He has carried out research activities in the context of ex 60% FARB projects (both as a member and as Scientific coordinator).
He is Director of the Architecture Laboratory at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Salerno, where research, teaching and third mission activities are carried out.
Scientific Coordinator of the Research Unit of the University of Salerno for the research project entitled “Re-habiting towns. Operational strategies for the valorization and resilience of internal areas (RI.P.R.O.VA.RE)” funded by the Ministry of the Environment on the basis of call for “The promotion of research projects to support the implementation of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development" (Call Snsvs 2 of the Ministry of the Environment and the protection of the territory and the sea).
Lecturer of the course “Sustainability in construction, environment and economy. Design, management and recovery of civil works and infrastructure” as part of the PhD course, accredited by MIUR, in “Risk and Sustainability of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering Systems” at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Salerno. He is also the owner and coordinator of this teaching.
Lecturer at the University Master of II level in "Technician expert in advanced services for the construction company" at the University of Salerno, for the teaching of "Technologies for the maintenance of facades and energy upgrading of the building envelope".
