Barbara MESSINA | Curriculum

Graduated in 1998 at the University of Naples 'Federico II', with a first class honours degree in Architecture, she received the dignity of press for her thesis. In 2002, awarded the title of Philosophy Doctor in "Survey and Representation of the Architecture and the Environment", by the Faculty of Architecture, University of Naples 'Federico II.' In 2003, awarded a research grant from the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Salerno; here she in Assistant Professor since 2005. At present, she is Associate Professor of Drawing (SSD ICAR17) at the Department of Civile Engineering, University of Salerno, and holds courses concerning the Drawing. In 2020 (15th July), she holds the National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor (S.S. ICAR/17-Drawing).

Since 2005, she is a member of the board of the PhD programme in “'Structural Engineering and Building and urban restoration”, at University of Salerno.The research, coherently developed with the didactic activity, is particularly addressed to the rapresentation of the environment and the architecture, especially the historical heritage, to the descriptive geometry and the related applications, as instrument for correctly interpreting the built space and landscape, and to the digital modeling, as system for visualizing the reality.She has participated in various international, national and regional research projects and every year, in continuously, in local interest research projects.She has taken part in several conferences of national and international interest, also as chairman, with papers published in the relating acts, thus establishing relationships of scientific collaboration with the teachers of the disciplines related to representation. She is member of the UID (Italian Association for Drawing).
Since 2008 she is member of various Institutional Committees of the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Salerno.
Since 2010 she is a MIUR's referee; since 2014 she is evaluator for international Journals and Editors.She is author of over 90 scientific publications, including writings in collective volumes, papers, conferences international communications, collaborations and editing of books.
