Objectives
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
THE COURSE HAS THE OBJECTIVE OF ILLUSTRATING THE TOPICS, CATEGORIES AND FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEMS OF THE ELABORATION OF A PHILOSOPHY OF DIALOGUE THROUGH THEORETICAL AND HERMENEUTICAL COMPARISON WITH SOME KEY WORKS OF THE CLASSICAL TRADITION AND CONTEMPORARY DEBATE. THE COURSE HAS THE AIM OF FAVORING COMPARISON WITH THE MOST CURRENT PROBLEMS RELATED TO DIALOGUE BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE, CULTURE AND RELIGIONS.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT WILL HAVE A WAY TO KNOW:
PROBLEMS, THEMES AND PHILOSOPHICAL APPROACHES TO THE PROBLEM OF DIALOGUE BETWEEN DIFFERENT KNOWLEDGE, CULTURE AND RELIGIOUS TRADITIONS;
THE METHODOLOGIES AND THEORETICAL-HERMENEUTICAL INSTRUMENTS OF INVESTIGATION OF THE DISCIPLINE;
THE CURRENTS, TERMS AND KEY CONCEPTS OF THE PHILOSOPHICAL-DIALOGICAL TRADITION;
THE MOST RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE DEBATE AROUND THE ELEBORATION OF A PHILOSOPHICAL-CRITICAL-HERMENEUTICAL APPROACH TO THE CURRENT PROBLEMS ARISED BY THE COMPARISON BETWEEN DIFFERENT KNOWLEDGE, CULTURES AND RELIGIONS.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
ORIENT YOURSELF IN THE PROBLEM OF RELATIONSHIPS AND THE POSSIBLE DIALOGICAL ENCOUNTER BETWEEN DIFFERENT KNOWLEDGE, TRADITIONS, CIVILIZATIONS AND RELIGIONS, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE CURRENTITY AND THE VIVID PRESENCE OF THESE PROBLEMS IN THE PHILOSOPHICAL DEBATE;
USE CORRECTLY AND CONSCIOUSLY THE KEY TERMS AND CONCEPTS OF THE PHILOSOPHICAL TRADITION IN THE FIELD OF CURRENT ISSUES OF THE DISCIPLINE;
APPLY YOUR CRITICAL AND ARGUMENTATIVE SKILLS TO ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEMS RELATED TO DIALOGUE BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE, CULTURE AND RELIGION. –

THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
TO DEVELOP, IN THE FORM OF SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION OR DISSEMINATION, EVALUATIONS AND JUDGMENTS ON TOPICS AND PROBLEMS OF COMPETENCE RELATED TO THE CURRENTITY.
ORIENT YOURSELF IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND CULTURAL PRODUCTION WITH RESPECT TO THE THEMES AND PROBLEMS OF PLURALISM AND INCLUSION.
DIALOGUE THE DIALOGUE KNOWLEDGE, DISCIPLINARY APPROACHES AND DIFFERENT CULTURAL, INTELLECTUAL AND RELIGIOUS POSITIONS.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
COMMUNICATE THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED BOTH SPECIALIST AND NON-SPECIALIST, IN WRITTEN AND ORAL FORM, THROUGH ADEQUATE AND ADVANCED METHODS AND INSTRUMENTS;
DEMONSTRATE SPECIALIST SKILLS IN THE READING OF TEXTS AND IN THE DISSEMINATION OF THEIR CONTENT, BOTH ORAL AND WRITTEN, ALSO IN THE WORLD OF WORK;
TO THE MOST INNOVATIVE EXPRESSION TOOLS, KNOWING HOW TO ADAPT THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED TO THE DIFFERENT MEANS AND TYPES OF COMMUNICATION.

LEARNING ABILITY
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
ACCESS WITH THE DUE SKILLS TO FURTHER LEVELS OF TRAINING;
DESIGN DIDACTIC AND TRAINING ACTIVITIES ON THE BASIS OF ADVANCED SKILLS ACQUIRED;
DEMONSTRATING EXHIBITION SKILLS BOTH IN WRITTEN PRODUCTION AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION.

PHILOSOPHY AND SCIENCE IN CONTEMPORARY THOUGHT

STARTING FROM AN EXAMINATION OF MASSIMO CACCIARI'S LATEST WORK, CONCRETE METAPHYSICS, THE COURSE INTENDS TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE OF THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN PHILOSOPHY AND SCIENCE IN CONTEMPORARY THOUGHT. SPECIFIC ATTENTION WILL BE GIVEN TO THE PHILOSOPHICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE REFLECTIONS OF SOME PHYSICISTS SUCH AS HEISENBERG, PAULI, AND FEYNMAN. TO DELVE DEEPER INTO THESE ISSUES, THE COURSE WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY SEVERAL SEMINAR SESSIONS CONDUCTED IN COLLABORATION WITH SCHOLARS OF PHYSICS.

THE PRINCIPLE OF CAUSALITY AND THE END OF THE DETERMINISTIC PARADIGM OF CONTEMPORARY SCIENCE
Teaching Methods
FRONTAL LESSONS, ACCOMPANIED BY READING, COMMENTARY AND INTERPRETATION OF KEY PASSAGES FROM THE TEXT.
THE LESSONS WILL BE INTEGRATED BY SOME SEMINAR MOMENTS AIMED AT DEVELOPING THE ABILITY TO APPLY THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF DISCUSSIONS ON THE HISTORICAL AND HERMENEUTICAL CONTEXTUALISATION, ON THE THEORETICAL DEPTH AND ON THE SPECULATIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MAIN ISSUES DEATED.

Verification of learning
THE EXAM (30 MIN.) CONSISTS OF AN ORAL TEST, AIMING TO VERIFY THE STUDENT’S KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING IN THE FIELD OF STUDIES (UP TO 15 POINTS), AS WELL AS HIS/HER ABILITY TO: ESTIMATE THE IMPORTANCE AS WELL AS THE THEORETICAL AND HERMENEUTIC MEANING OF THE PHILOSOPHICAL DIALOGICAL APPROACH (UP TO 5 POINTS); CONSTRUCTIVELY COMMENT ON ASPECTS PECULIAR TO THE MAIN PHILOSOPHICAL ISSUES (UP TO 5 POINTS); GATHER AND INTERPRET RELEVANT DATA IN ORDER TO FORM JUDGEMENTS THAT ENCOURAGE REFLECTION ON THE DIALOGUE AND ITS LIMITS 8UP TO 5 POINTS).
THE LODE MAY BE ATTRIBUTED TO STUDENTS GIVING THE MAXIMUM VOTE OF 30/30 AND DEMONSTRATE TO APPLY IN AUTONOMOUS ORIGINAL KNOWLEDGE AND ACQUISITE COMPETENCES.
