CARLO BARONE Curriculum

Carlo Barone was born on December 13, 1976 in Salerno, where he lives.

From April 12, 2017 he has the Habilitation for Associate Professor in 02/B1 (Experimental Condensed Matter Physics). On February 29, 2008 he was awarded a Ph.D. in Physics (specialization Condensed Matter), at the University of Salerno. From December 16, 2002 to September 17, 2003 he has attended a Master in “Technologies and Applications of Computer Science for the Territorial Management (GIS)”, at the International Institute for Advanced Scientific Studies – Vietri sul Mare (SA). On July 18, 2002 he graduated in Physics (specialization Geophysics), at the University of Salerno, with an evaluation of 110/110 points. In July, 1995 he received a Scientific High-School license, with an evaluation of 60/60 points.

Throughout his educational training, Carlo Barone has acquired a good knowledge of English, both written and spoken, and technical skills concerning the measurement of low-intensity electromagnetic fields, the experimental analysis for the territorial management, the manipulation of the data through accurate statistical techniques. He has also developed excellent computer skills, using several software such as Mathcad, Matlab, ArcGIS, LabView, Visual C++, etc. In this respect, on February 26, 2004 he obtained a professional certificate of “Expert in Computer Applications for the Territorial Management” issued by the Campania Region. On October 14, 2014 he also got the qualification of “Crane Operator” issued by Ente Nazionale Bilaterale Lavoro e Impresa.

Most of his scientific and professional activity has focused on the elaboration of stochastic signals originated by non-equilibrium processes in innovative materials and devices (electric noise measurements), giving him the possibility to publish several papers in international scientific journals. Among these, it is important to underline Scientific Reports (a journal from Nature Publishing Group) for which, now, he is a member of the Editorial Board. Moreover, he has been Coordinator and Principal Investigator of a national “Seed” Project entitled: "Is weak localization detected by 1/f noise?", funded by the CNR-SPIN Institute from April, 2012 to February, 2013.

From April 07, 2008 to November 28, 2022, he worked at the University of Salerno (Department of Physics) and at the Institute SPIN of the National Research Council (CNR) as Researcher. Nowadays, he is Associate Professor at the Department of Physics (University of Salerno).
