Objectives
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:

LECTURES ARE INTENDED TO GIVE BASIC KNOWLEDGE ON CLASSICAL MECHANICS AND ELECTROMAGNETISM.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
STUDENTS MUST BE ABLE TO SOLVE SIMPLE PROBLEMS RELATED TO CLASSICAL MECHANICS AND ELECTROMAGNETISM.
Prerequisites
BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF HIGH-SCHOOL MATHEMATICS IS REQUIRED.

THEORY: 30 HOURS; PRACTICE AND EXERCISES: 24 HOURS; CONTENTS: MECHANICS- KINEMATICS AND DYNAMICS; SHORT INTRODUCTION TO SPECIAL RELATIVITY; ELECTROMAGNETISM; BASIC NOTIONS IN GEOMETRICAL OPTICS.
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE WILL PROVIDE BASIC KNOWLEDGE ON CLASSICAL MECHANICS AND ELECTROMAGNETISM.
Verification of learning
A)INTERMEDIATE EXAM (WRITTEN) AND FINAL EXAM (WRITTEN+ORAL).

STUDENTS WITH AVERAGE GRADE ON THE WRITTEN EXAMS GREATER OR EQUAL TO 15/30 ARE ADMITTED TO ORAL EXAMINATION.

STUDENTS WITH AVERAGE GRADE IN THE INTERMEDIATE AND FINAL EXAMS GREATER THAN OR EQUAL TO 22/30 MAY ASK TO BE EVALUATED ONLY ON THE BASIS OF WRITTEN EXAMS.

B)WRITTEN AND ORAL EXAMINATIONS FOR STUDENTS WHO DO NOT PASS THE INTERMEDIATE AND FINAL EXAM.
