Objectives | |

Knowledge and understanding The course aims to improve students' linguistic, sociolinguistic, pragmatic and textual skills through linguistic, rhetorical and stylistic analysis of written and oral texts. During the course the students will know the problems related to translation and reformulation in its various modalities and with different objectives. They will carry out an in-depth study of linguistic phenomena, with a start to the diachronic and diatopic study of the language. The course aims to make the student reach the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding The student will acquire a solid knowledge of written and oral English language, ability to deepen textual analysis and advanced translation, expertise in using computer programs for word processing and for carrying out research of various kinds. He will critically evaluate the quality of information found, and will gain the ability to deepen the study of complex linguistic phenomena and problems of translation and its reformulation with different modalities and objectives. |
