Objectives
THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT GENERAL METHODS OF ANALYSIS FOR THE QUANTIFICATION OF DRUGS, APPLYING DIFFERENT ANALYTICAL METHODOLOGIES.

THE STUDENT APPLYING THE ACQUIRED SKILLS WILL BE ABLE TO CHOOSE AND APPLY THE MOST APPROPRIATE METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE QUANTITY OF DRUGS IN DIFFERENT SAMPLES
Prerequisites
FOR THIS COURSE, IT IS NECESSARY THE ACQUISITION OF THE OBJECTIVES OF: GENERAL AND INORGANIC CHEMISTRY, PHYSICS, MATHEMATICS. MOREOVER, THE ACQUISITION OF BASIC PRINCIPLES OF ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

TITRATIONS IN NONAQUEOUS SOLVENTS: THEORY AND APPLICATIONS.
COMPLEXOMETRIC TITRATION. METALLOCROMIC INDICATORS. COMPLEX-FORMATION AND INSTABILITY CONSTANTS. EXAMPLES OF COMPLEXOMETRIC TITRATIONS ACCORDING TO E.P.
DEFINITION AND USE OF THE STANDARD REDUCTION POTENTIAL. REDOX INDICATORS AND SPECIFIC INDICATORS. PERMANGANOMETRY. VOLUMES OF OXYGEN IN HYDROGEN PEROXIDE. IODIMETRY. IODOMETRY. CERIMETRY. BROMATOMETRY.

Teaching Methods
THE COURSE IS MADE OF 80 HOURS OF LESSONS(10 CFU), 60 HOURS OF FRONTAL LESSONS AND 20 HOURS OF LAB EXPERIENCES (8 EXPERIENCES, 2.5 HOURS EACH).THE ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. EVERY TWO WEEKS, DURING FRONTAL LESSONS, EXERCISES CONCERNING THE TOPICS DISCUSSED WILL BE PERFORMED. .
THE LESSONS ARE MANDATORY, THE FREQUENCY OF AT LEAST 80% OF LABORATORY LESSONS IS REQUIRED FOR THE ACCESS TO THE EXAM.
Verification of learning
THE EXAM CONSINSTS IN THREE DIFFERENT TESTS. THE ACHIEVEMENT OF EACH TEST IS MANDATORY FOR THE NEXT ONE. THE FIRST EXAMINATION CONSISTS IN A LABORATORY TITRATION OF A CHEMICAL COMPOUND. THE SECOND IS A WRITTEN TEST COMPOSED BY 5 DIFFERENT ANALYTICAL PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED. FINALLY, THE THIRD TEST IS AN ORAL EXAMINATION OF ABOUT 20 MINUTES WITH THE AIM TO VERIFY THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE STUDENT.
