Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE THE TOOLS TO ANALYZE THE PLANNING SYSTEM AND PROVIDE
THE TOOLS TO BUILD ANALYSIS SCENARIOS TO SUPPORT THE COGNITIVE ANALYSES PREPARATORY TO THE DRAFTING AND EVALUATION OF AN URBAN AND REGIONAL PLAN.


KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE:
- THE ABILITY TO READ AND INTERPRET THE TOOLS OF REGIONAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND URBAN PLANNING, WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE PLANNING SYSTEM;
- THE ABILITY TO USE THE URBAN AND ENVIRONMENTAL INDICATORS NECESSARY FOR THE MEASUREMENT AND CONTROL OF URBAN AND REGIONAL PHENOMENA;
- THE ABILITY TO READ AND WRITE SPECIFIC CONTENTS OF REGIONAL PLANNING TOOLS;
- THE ABILITY TO DRAW UP A STRUCTURAL PLAN IN ITS RECONNAISSANCE AND STRATEGIC COMPONENT, THROUGH GRAPHIC REPRESENTATION AND TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:

THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- UNDERSTAND THE TERMINOLOGIES USED IN REGIONAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND URBAN PLANNING;
- EXAMINE THE TECHNICAL DEVICES OF THE PLANNING TOOLS;
- DEVELOP ANALYSIS SCENARIOS TO SUPPORT THE COGNITIVE ANALYSES PREPARATORY TO THE DRAFTING AND EVALUATION OF AN URBAN AND REGIONAL PLAN.


MAKING JUDGEMENTS:

THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- SELECT THE MOST APPROPRIATE SPATIAL ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF COGNITIVE FRAMEWORKS;
- ORGANIZE STRUCTURED DATABASES TO SUPPORT THE EVALUATION OF URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANS.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- WORK IN GROUPS;
- PRESENT ORALLY AND GRAPHICALLY, IN TECHNICAL FORM, ONE OF THE TOPICS ADDRESSED.

LEARNING SKILLS:

THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- USE THE IT RESOURCES FOR ANALYSIS AND ARCHIVING IN A GIS ENVIRONMENT;
- APPLY THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE;
- PROCEED WITH THE CONTINUOUS UPDATING OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE, USING TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE.

THERE ARE NO PARTICULAR PREREQUISITES TO BE ABLE TO FOLLOW THE COURSE.

THE COURSE INCLUDES BOTH HOURS OF LECTURES AND HOURS OF GUIDED EXERCISES, DURING WHICH STUDENTS DIRECTLY APPLY WHAT THE LECTURER HAS ALREADY INTRODUCED.

3) METHODS OF ANALYSIS OF THE LAND USE SYSTEM (8 hours)

- METRICS RELATED TO THE LANDSCAPE ECOLOGY
- COMPOSITE INDEX
4) RISK ACTIVITIES (8 hours)
- TYPES OF TERRITORIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL RISK
- RISK FACTORS
- HYDROGEOLOGICAL RISK
- CONTRIBUTION OF TERRITORIAL PLANNING TO THE REDUCTION OF HYDROGEOLOGICAL RISK
5) THE GREEN INFRASTRUCTURES PLANNING (8 hours)
- ECOSYSTEM SERVICES
- GREEN INFRASTRUCTURES
- ECOLOGICAL NETWORK ANALYSIS METRICS


EXERCISE ACTIVITIES (20 hours):

THE TOPICS OF THE TRAINING ACTIVITIES ARE TO:

1) FIND DATA FROM THE OFFICIAL DATABASE QUERY AND ORGANIZING THEM IN A GEODATABASE (10 hours).
2) CONSTRUCTION OF THE COGNITIVE FRAMEWORKS TO SUPPORT THE FORMULATION OF THE STRATEGIC DOCUMENT OF THE RIVER AGREEMENT OF A SPECIFIC STUDY AREA (10 hours)
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE INCLUDES 40 HOURS OF LECTURES, WHICH TAKE PLACE IN THE CLASSROOM WITH THE AID OF PRESENTATIONS, AND 20 HOURS OF PRACTICAL EXERCISES, WHICH ARE ALSO PROVIDED WITH THE HELP OF A SPECIFIC GIS SOFTWARE.
Verification of learning
THE LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT OF THE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE IS CERTIFIED BY PASSING A FINAL ASSESSMENT MARKED IN THIRTIETHS.
THE FINAL ASSESSMENT INVOLVES AN ORAL EXAMINATION INCLUDING THE PRESENTATION OF A TECHNICAL REPORT PRODUCED BY THE STUDENT INDEPENDENTLY OR IN A GROUP ON A TOPIC INDICATED BY THE LECTURER.

ITS PURPOSE IS TO VERIFY: THE ABILITY OF UNDERSTANDING THE PROBLEMS PROPOSED DURING THE CLASSES AND APPLYING PROPERLY THE THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE, AND THE ABILITY OF DEMONSTRATING THEM EFFECTIVELY AND PERTINENTLY.

THE ASSESSMENT CONSISTS OF A DISCUSSION LASTING ABOUT 30 MINUTES TO ENSURE:
• THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE OF THEORETICAL CONTENTS
• THE LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE: LANGUAGE PROPERTIES, LOGICAL - DEDUCTIVE AND SYNTHESIS CAPABILITIES, ABILITY OF ARGUMENTATION, AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT IN PROPOSING THE MOST APPROPRIATE APPROACH OF ARGUING WHAT IS REQUIRED.

THE MINIMUM MARK FOR PASSING THE EXAM IS 18/30, AND IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT SHOWS A LIMITED KNOWLEDGE OF THE TOPICS COVERED DURING THE COURSE;

THE MAXIMUM MARK (30/30) IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT SHOWS A COMPLETE AND IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE TOPICS COVERED DURING THE COURSE.

THE PRAISE MAY BE GIVEN TO STUDENTS WHO REACH THE MAXIMUM RATING OF 30/30 AND DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO APPLY THEIR OWN KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ACQUIRED ALSO IN OTHER CONTEXTS.
