Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE AN OVERALL VISION OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT.
THE STUDENT:
- WILL ACQUIRE THE BASIC NOTIONS OF HOW BUSINESSES WORK;
- WILL KNOW THE BASIC NOTIONS OF STRATEGIC ANALYSIS
- WILL DELVE INTO SPECIFIC ISSUES REGARDING SOME MANAGEMENT AREAS SUCH AS: ORGANISATION, MARKETING, FINANCE, PRODUCTION, CONTROL
- WILL KNOW SOME BUSINESS MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES WHICH CONCERN: THE EVALUATION OF ECONOMIC-STRUCTURAL POTENTIAL, THE EVALUATION OF INVESTMENTS, THE MANAGEMENT OF INVENTORIES
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- DISCUSS A STRATEGIC PLAN
- EVALUATE AN ORGANIZATIONAL MODEL
- EVALUATE MARKETING POLICIES;
- APPLY SOME MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES
Prerequisites
THE STUDENT MUST HAVE ACQUIRED BASIC KNOWLEDGE IN THE FIELD OF BUSINESS ECONOMICS.

THE COURSE ANALYSES:
1) ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT (18 HOURS).
- FIRM AND ENTREPRENEURIAL GOALS
- ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS
- COMPETITIVE CONTEXT

2) STRATEGIC PLANNING (16 HOURS)
- GLOBAL AND COMPETITIVE STRATEGIES
- PROGRAMMING AND CONTROL
- DECISION MAKING

3) FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, ORGANIZATION, LOGISTIC, FINANCE, MARKETING, PRODUCTION (22 HOURS).

4) SKILLS DEVELOPMENT (16 HOURS)
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE PROVIDES 72 HOURS (12 CFU) OF FRONTAL LESSONS. ATTEND TO THE LESSONS IS NOT MANDATORY BUT IT IS STRONGLY SUGGESTED
Verification of learning
VERIFICATION OF LEARNING WILL BE MADE WITH FINAL EXAMINATION. FINAL EVALUATION WILL BE ON A SCALE OF THIRTY. FINAL EXAMINATION WILL BE ARTICULATED IN TEST FOLLOWED BY A COLLOQUY. THE WRITTEN TEST CONSISTS OF A TEST ORGANIZED INTO A NUMBER OF QUESTIONS BETWEEN 15 AND 30 WHICH CAN BE BOTH CLOSED AND OPEN ANSWERED. ONE POINT IS ASSIGNED FOR EACH CORRECT ANSWER FOR CLOSED-ANSWER QUESTIONS. OPEN-ANSWER QUESTIONS WILL BE SCORED BETWEEN 1 AND 5 POINTS. THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION IS PASSED IF THE SUM OF THE SCORES ACHIEVED IS AT LEAST EQUAL TO 18. THE STUDENT CAN CHOOSE TO SUSTAIN THE ORAL EXAMINATION THAT IS FUNCTIONAL TO ASSESS STUDENT'S KNOWLEDGE AND HOW TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE. THE MAXIMUM MARK IS ACHIEVED WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES TO BE ABLE TO ILLUSTRATE CORRECTLY AND DISCUSS ALL THE ISSUES RELATING TO THE MANAGEMENT OF THE COMPANY.
