Objectives
The Radiodiagnostic 1 course is divided into five teaching modules: Traditional Radiology (head-neck-thorax) with 1 CFU, Respiratory System Diseases with 1 CFU, Cardiovascular System Diseases with 1 CFU, Endocrinology with 1 CFU, Technical-Methodological Aspects of Radiodiagnosis 1 with 2 credits. The course aims to facilitate the acquisition of theoretical knowledge regarding the principles and methodologies of traditional radiology of the head-neck and chest area, as well as the fundamental elements of respiratory, cardiovascular and endocrine system diseases.
Knowledge and understanding
- Knowledge and understanding of the theoretical and methodological aspects of head-neck and thorax radiology
- Knowledge of the main diseases of the respiratory system
- Knowledge of the main diseases of the cardiovascular system
- Knowledge of the main pathologies of the endocrine glands
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
- Ability to distinguish between different radiological methodologies.
- Ability to identify the appropriate radiological technique.
Transversal skills
- Ability to update through bibliographic tools.
Prerequisites
In order to understand and know how to apply most of the topics covered in the teaching, it is necessary to have passed the preparatory examination of Equipment 1

Methodologies
Study techniques of conventional radiology of the head-neck, thorax and heart district.
Fundamental projections.
Normal and pathological radiological pictures. Main indications. Correctness criteria.
Study techniques of conventional radiology of the odontostomatological system.
Main projections for the correct execution of Orthopantomography, Cephalometry and Temporo-Mandibular Joints (TMJ) exams.
Normal and pathological radiological pictures. Main indications. Correctness criteria.
Teaching Methods
The course includes frontal lessons lasting 72 hours.
Attendance of classroom lessons and laboratory exercises is mandatory. In order to take the final exam, the student must have attended at least 75% of the teaching hours. The modality of checking the presence is made known by the teacher at the beginning of the lessons
Verification of learning
The achievement of the teaching objectives is certified by passing an exam with an evaluation out of thirty. The test as a whole allows to ascertain both the ability to know and understand, and the ability to apply the skills acquired, both the ability to exhibit, and the ability to learn and develop solutions independently of judgment. The teachers holding the coordinated modules participate in the overall collegial assessment of the student's achievement.
