Objectives
The course of Medical Sciences and Human Pathology takes place in the second semester of the first year. It is divided into 4 modules: General Pathology with 2 CFU, Pathological Anatomy with 2 CFU, Internal Medicine with 1 CFU, Methods with 1 CFU, for a total of 72 hours of lessons. The course aims to facilitate the acquisition of theoretical knowledge regarding general pathology, pathological anatomy, internal medicine and clinical methodologies. In addition to the basic elements, aspects related to Diagnostic Imaging will be analyzed.

Prerequisites
n order to understand and know how to apply most of the topics covered in the teaching, it is necessary to have passed the preparatory exams of Biochemical and Biological Sciences and Morphofunctional Sciences

THE COURSE IS DIVIDED INTO 4 MODULES: GENERAL PATHOLOGY WITH 2 CFU, PATHOLOGICAL ANATOMY WITH 2 CFU, INTERNAL MEDICINE WITH 1 CFU, METHODOLOGIES WITH 1 CFU. THE COURSE INCLUDES 72 HOURS OF LESSONS IN WHICH THE TOPICS WILL BE ADDRESSED:
CAUSES OF DISEASE.
THE FEVER.
IMMUNE SYSTEM.
INFLAMMATION.
ONCOLOGY.
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF BLOOD CELLS.
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF THE ENDOCRINE GLANDS.
NEUROLOGY.
METHODS AND INSTRUMENTATION OF PATHOLOGICAL ANATOMY.
PATHOLOGICAL ANATOMY OF THE MAIN ORGANS AND SYSTEMS WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO ONCOLOGICAL PATHOLOGIES.
INTRODUCTORY NOTES AND GENERALITIES OF INTERNAL MEDICINE.
PRINCIPLES OF METHODOLOGY.
Teaching Methods
The course includes frontal lessons lasting 72 hours.
Attendance of classroom lectures and laboratory exercises is mandatory. In order to take the final exam, the student must have attended at least 75% of the teaching hours. The manner of checking attendance is made known by the teacher at the beginning of the lessons.
Verification of learning
The achievement of the teaching objectives is certified by passing an exam with an evaluation out of thirty. The test as a whole makes it possible to ascertain both the ability to know and understand, both the ability to apply the skills acquired, the ability to show, and the ability to learn and develop solutions in independent judgment. The teachers holding the coordinated modules participate in the overall collegial assessment of the student's achievement.
