THE OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE THE BASIC SKILLS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF EDUCATIONAL PATHS IN BIOLOGY CONSISTENT WITH THE OBJECTIVES SET BY NATIONAL AND MINISTRY GUIDELINES. THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS RELATED TO THE TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCESSES OF BIOLOGY THROUGH TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES, INCLUDING NEW DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING SKILLS: - UNDERSTANDING OF THE COGNITIVE PROCESSES UNDERLYING THE LEARNING OF SCIENCE - UNDERSTANDING OF THE PATHWAYS FOR STRUCTURING SCIENCE LEARNING ACROSS SCHOOL CYCLES - UNDERSTANDING OF THE IMPORTANCE OF LABORATORY ACTIVITIES FOR LEARNING SCIENCE - UNDERSTANDING OF THE VARIOUS COMPONENTS INHERENT IN THE PROCESS OF ASSESSING ACQUIRED SKILLS - KNOWLEDGE OF THE LEGISLATIVE REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE LEARNING OF SCIENCE IN THE VARIOUS SCHOOL CYCLES - KNOWLEDGE OF THE SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED FOR ACCESS TO THE VARIOUS TEACHING CLASSES ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: - ABILITY TO IDENTIFY THE MAIN TOPICS FOR LEARNING SCIENCE IN THE VARIOUS SCHOOL CYCLES - ABILITY TO SET UP A U.D.A. RELEVANT TO A SCIENCE TOPIC, ADAPTING IT TO A HYPOTHETICAL SCHOOL CONTEXT - ABILITY TO SET UP PRACTICAL LABORATORY ACTIVITIES, BOTH CLASSICAL AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF INNOVATIVE DIGITAL TECHNIQUES, FOR THE ILLUSTRATION OF SCIENTIFIC CONCEPTS AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO AUTONOMOUSLY ASSESS THE LEVEL OF SCIENTIFIC SKILLS THAT STUDENTS IN DIFFERENT SCHOLAR, ENVIRONMENTAL, AND SOCIAL CONTEXTS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP AT THE END OF A SCHOOL TERM COMMUNICATION SKILLS THE STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO: - PRODUCE DOCUMENTS, USING APPROPRIATE SCIENTIFIC TERMINOLOGY, RELATED TO THE SETTING OF A DIDACTIC UNIT, IN WHICH THEY WILL HAVE TO DESCRIBE IN SUFFICIENT DETAIL THE VARIOUS COMPONENTS OF THIS TYPE OF DOCUMENTATION; - PRODUCE SUMMARY PRESENTATIONS OF SUCH DOCUMENTS, USING TOOLS SUCH AS POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS; - SUPPORT A DISCUSSION FROM SUCH PRESENTATIONS, ENUNCIATING THEORETICAL PRINCIPLES AND ANSWERING RELEVANT QUESTIONS. |

THE COURSE CONSISTS OF 30 H OF INTERACTIVE FRONTAL LECTURES THAT WILL BE USED TO ILLUSTRATE CONCEPTS RELATED TO THE COURSE CONTENT, WHILE ALSO SIMULATING VARIOUS SITUATIONS THAT MAY OCCUR IN TEACHING PRACTICE. SEMINAR ACTIVITIES ON PARTICULAR TOPICS OF INTEREST TO FUTURE TEACHERS MAY ALSO BE INCLUDED DURING THE LECTURES. |
Verification of learning | |

THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE OBJECTIVES OF THE TEACHING IS CERTIFIED BY PASSING AN EXAMINATION WITH EVALUATION IN THIRTIETHS. VERIFICATION OF LEARNING WILL TAKE THE FORM OF A 90 MIN WRITTEN EXAMINATION AIMED AT ASCERTAINING CONTENT KNOWLEDGE AND CLARITY OF EXPOSITION. THE STUDENT OR STUDENT WILL HAVE TO DESCRIBE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A DIDACTIC UNIT FOR LEARNING A SPECIFIC BIOLOGICAL CONCEPT OR PROCESS, ASSIGNED BY THE TEACHER AND CONTEXTUALIZED WITHIN A SPECIFIC SCHOOL CURRICULUM, BRIEFLY ILLUSTRATING ALL ITS ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS. EVALUATION WILL TAKE INTO ACCOUNT NOT ONLY THE CORRECTNESS OF THE CONTENT BUT ALSO THE APPROPRIATENESS OF THE SETTING OF THE DIDACTIC UNIT IN RELATION TO THE CONTEXT ASSIGNED BY THE TEACHER. |
