Objectives
THE COURSE, LOCATED IN AN ADVANCED PHASE OF THE STUDY PROGRAM, AIMS TO PROVIDE THE STUDENT WITH THE THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE ON THE PEDAGOGY OF DIFFERENCES, PAYING PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE STUDY OF THE CULTURAL AND METHODOLOGICAL ASSUMPTIONS INDISPENSABLE FOR PROMOTING INCLUSION WITHIN THE EDUCATIONAL CONTEXTS.
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
- KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: BY THE END OF THE COURSE STUDENTS SHOULD KNOW THE PRINCIPLES AND THE EDUCATIONAL THEORIES DEVELOPED WITHIN THE FIELD OF THE PEDAGOGY OF DIFFERENCES IN A HISTORICAL-SOCIAL AND CULTURAL PERSPECTIVE.
- ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: BY THE END OF THE COURSE STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO ANALYZE AND INTERPRET THE INCLUSIVE PROCESSES BY APPLYING THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS LEARNED.
- AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT: BY THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO REFLECT CRITICALLY ON THE TOPICS ANALYZED DURING THE LESSONS AND TO ANALYZE THE EMERGING DIFFERENCES WITHIN THE EDUCATIONAL CONTEXTS.
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS: BY THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE INFORMATION, IDEAS, PROBLEMS THROUGH AN APPROPRIATE LEXICON.
- LEARNING SKILLS: BY THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE ACQUIRED THE NECESSARY SKILLS TO UNDERTAKE FOLLOWING STUDIES WITH A HIGH DEGREE OF AUTONOMY.

THE COURSE WILL ADDRESS THE THEME OF DIFFERENCE IN A PEDAGOGICAL KEY, ANALYZING ITS SEVERAL CONCEPTUAL NUANCES AND IMPLICATIONS WITH REFERENCE TO THE PROCESSES OF INCLUSION IN EDUCATION.
SPECIFICALLY, THE FOLLOWING TOPICS WILL BE COVERED:
- SPECIAL PEDAGOGY AND PEDAGOGY OF DIFFERENCES
- CONCEPT OF DIFFERENCE: MULTIDISCIPLINARY PERSPECTIVES
- THE THEME OF DIFFERENCES WITHIN THE APPROACH OF FULL INCLUSION
- NORM AND NORMALITY
- DISABILITY, DIVERSITY, DIFFERENCES
- SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
- APPROACHES AND TOOLS TO EDUCATE ABOUT DIFFERENCES
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE IS STRUCTURED IN 36 HOURS OF LECTURES WITH THE USE OF POWERPOINT AND ANY OTHER MULTIMEDIA MATERIAL, ALSO INCLUDING MOMENTS OF SHARED REFLECTION, EXERCISES AND GROUP ACTIVITIES.
Verification of learning
LEARNING ASSESSMENT WILL BE CARRIED OUT THROUGH AN ORAL EXAM BASED ON THE FORMULATION OF A MINIMUM OF THREE QUESTIONS.
THE EVALUATION IS EXPRESSED IN THIRTIES. THE MINIMUM EVALUATION LEVEL (18/30) IS ATTRIBUTED WHEN THE STUDENT SHOWS A BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONTENTS OF THE COURSE, WHILE THE MAXIMUM LEVEL (30/30) IS AWARDED IF THE STUDENT HAS AN IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE TOPICS COVERED DURING THE COURSE AND HAS THE ABILITY TO ARTICULATE THEM CRITICALLY USING AN APPROPRIATE LEXICON.
