Objectives
GENERAL LEARNING OUTCOMES:
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE THE STUDENT WITH A SOLID FOUNDATION IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, ENABLING THEM TO ASSIMILATE THE THEORETICAL PRINCIPLES UNDERLYING MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTIONS AND THE MAIN TECHNICAL-METHODOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS. ADDITIONALLY, IT AIMS TO EQUIP THE STUDENT WITH THE ABILITY TO ANALYZE AND USE STATE-OF-THE-ART APPLICATIONS IN THE FIELD, GUIDING THEM TOWARDS APPROPRIATE APPLICATION IN THE DYNAMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE SECTOR.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
THE COURSE SEEKS TO INTRODUCE THE PRINCIPLES UNDERLYING THE OPERATION OF AN ELECTRONIC COMPUTER AND THE INTERNET, AS WELL AS THE MAIN METHODOLOGIES AND TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE PRODUCTION AND ENJOYMENT OF MULTIMEDIA CONTENT IN DIGITAL FORMAT.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THE FUNCTIONAL PARAMETERS ASSOCIATED WITH MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTIONS AND USE THE MAIN APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET THAT SUPPORT THE PROCESS OF CREATING MULTIMEDIA ARTIFACTS. THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE IN BOTH THE ARTISTIC FIELD, WHERE MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTIONS CAN SIGNIFICANTLY ENHANCE ARTISTIC COMMUNICATION, AND IN VARIOUS PROFESSIONAL FIELDS THAT REQUIRE THE USE OF SIMILAR TOOLS.

AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT:
THE STUDENT WILL GAIN THE ABILITY TO INDEPENDENTLY VERIFY, EVALUATE, AND ANALYZE THE MATERIALS AND TOOLS SPECIFIC TO THE DISCIPLINE, AS WELL AS APPLY THE ACQUIRED METHODOLOGIES TO OTHER FIELDS.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
THE STUDENT WILL KNOW HOW TO USE COMPUTER AND TELEMATIC COMMUNICATION TOOLS TO CONVEY THEIR KNOWLEDGE AT DIFFERENT LEVELS AND EXPRESS IT MOST APPROPRIATELY FOR VARIOUS MEDIA AND FORMATS.

LEARNING SKILLS:
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO CONTINUOUSLY UPDATE THEIR KNOWLEDGE BY UTILIZING TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE.

BASIC COMPUTER SCIENCE KNOWLEDGE.

THE MAIN TOPICS OF THE COURSE INCLUDE MULTIMEDIA INFORMATION REPRESENTATION, THE ARCHITECTURE OF A COMPUTER AND ITS MAIN TECHNICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS, THE CONCEPT OF SOFTWARE, OPERATING SYSTEMS, AND PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES, COMPUTER COMMUNICATION, THE INTERNET, THE WEB, COPYRIGHT, AND COMPUTER SECURITY, DIGITAL STORYTELLING, AND MAJOR TOOLS FOR MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTION.

ORAL EXAM.
THE ASSESSMENT TAKES PLACE THROUGH THE VERIFICATION OF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE TOPICS COVERED AND THE DISCUSSION OF A MULTIMEDIA PROJECT TO BE CARRIED OUT IN A GROUP.
