THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE AN IN-DEPTH UNDERSTANDING OF THE USE OF THE DYNAMIC ECOLOGICAL APPROACH IN ASSESSING ATHLETIC ABILITIES, FOCUSING ON THE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN ATHLETES AND THEIR ENVIRONMENT. THROUGH THIS APPROACH, STUDENTS WILL EXPLORE HOW THESE FACTORS INTERACT TO INFLUENCE LEARNING, ADAPTATION, AND ATHLETIC IMPROVEMENT. ENVIRONMENTAL AFFORDANCES AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH ATHLETES' ABILITIES WILL BE ANALYZED, PROMOTING TRAINING STRATEGIES THAT ENCOURAGE INDIVIDUAL EXPLORATION AND ADAPTATION. THE COURSE SEEKS TO PREPARE FUTURE PROFESSIONALS TO DEVELOP FLEXIBLE AND INNOVATIVE TRAINING PROGRAMS SUITED TO THE EVER-CHANGING DEMANDS OF THE SPORTS WORLD. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: STUDENTS WILL DEVELOP A SOLID THEORETICAL UNDERSTANDING OF ADVANCED SPORTS METHODOLOGIES, WITH A FOCUS ON HOW THE DYNAMIC ECOLOGICAL APPROACH CAN BE USED TO ANALYZE AND ENHANCE ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE. CRITICAL EVALUATION OF THEORIES RELATED TO MOTOR LEARNING AND SKILL ACQUISITION WILL BE ENCOURAGED, ALONG WITH AN EXAMINATION OF HOW THESE THEORIES CAN BE PRACTICALLY APPLIED TO REFINE STRENGTH TRAINING AND IMPROVE SPORTS PERFORMANCE. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO TRANSLATE THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE INTO CONCRETE TRAINING STRATEGIES, DESIGNING AND IMPLEMENTING PROGRAMS THAT NOT ONLY ENHANCE ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE BUT ALSO ACCOUNT FOR THE INDIVIDUAL, TASK-RELATED, AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSTRAINTS EACH ATHLETE FACES. ADVANCED ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGIES WILL BE EMPLOYED TO CONTINUOUSLY MONITOR ATHLETES’ PROGRESS, ALLOWING TRAINING TO BE ADAPTED TO THEIR SPECIFIC NEEDS AND GOALS. AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT: THE COURSE AIMS TO DEVELOP STUDENTS' ABILITY TO CRITICALLY ANALYZE AND EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF VARIOUS TRAINING APPROACHES AND ASSESSMENT TECHNIQUES, WITH PARTICULAR EMPHASIS ON INTEGRATING THE PRINCIPLES OF THE DYNAMIC ECOLOGICAL APPROACH. STUDENTS WILL BE ENCOURAGED TO EXERCISE INFORMED JUDGMENT IN ADAPTING AND PERSONALIZING TRAINING PROGRAMS IN RESPONSE TO THE UNIQUE NEEDS OF EACH ATHLETE, PROMOTING OPTIMAL AND INDIVIDUALIZED SOLUTIONS. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: THE COURSE AIMS TO DEVELOP ADVANCED COMMUNICATION COMPETENCIES IN STUDENTS, FOCUSING BOTH ON THE DELIVERY OF TECHNICAL-SCIENTIFIC CONTENT AND ON INTERACTION WITH ATHLETES AND COLLEAGUES IN MULTIDISCIPLINARY CONTEXTS. LEARNING SKILLS: THE COURSE WILL PROMOTE A CONTINUOUS AND SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING APPROACH, ENCOURAGING STUDENTS TO MAINTAIN A PROACTIVE ATTITUDE IN STAYING UP TO DATE WITH THE LATEST RESEARCH AND INNOVATIONS IN THE FIELD OF SPORTS TRAINING AND PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT. |

THE FOLLOWING TOPICS THAT ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THE ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION OF SPORTS PERFORMANCE WILL BE COVERED DURING THE COURSE. BASIC CONCEPTS OF STRENGTH AND SPEED: FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES THAT INFLUENCE STRENGTH AND SPEED IN SPORTS. ANATOMY AND FACTORS LIMITING FORCE PRODUCTION: ANALYSIS OF KEY BODY STRUCTURES FOR FORCE GENERATION. BIOMECHANICAL ANALYSIS OF SPORTS MOVEMENT: METHODS TO SCIENTIFICALLY EXAMINE MOVEMENT IN SPORTS. ADAPTATION OF STRENGTH TRAINING: CUSTOMIZING TRAINING TO MEET THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF SPORTS. INCREASING OVERLOAD IN STRENGTH TRAINING: STRATEGIES TO INCREASE STRENGTH BEYOND DAILY USE. PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF SPORT-SPECIFIC TRAINING: DIRECT PRACTICE OF SPECIFIC TRAINING REGIMEN FOR VARIOUS SPORTS. THESE CONTENTS ARE ESSENTIAL TO ACHIEVE THE COURSE’S LEARNING OBJECTIVES, WHICH ARE AIMED AT DEVELOPING ADVANCED SKILLS IN MONITORING AND IMPROVING ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE, WHILE PROMOTING WELL-BEING AND DEEPENING SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE IN THE FIELD. |

THE COURSE INCLUDES A COMBINATION OF THEORETICAL LESSONS AND PRACTICAL EXERCISES IN THE CLASSROOM. DURING THE EXERCISES, STUDENTS ARE PROPOSED TO SOLVE PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE APPLICATION OF THE DYNAMIC ECOLOGICAL APPROACH TO SPORTS ACTIVITIES. THE SOLUTION METHOD CONSISTS IN IDENTIFYING THE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN ATHLETES AND THE ENVIRONMENT, IN PLANNING ADAPTIVE TRAINING PROGRAMS, AND FINALLY IN IMPLEMENTING THESE PROGRAMS. THIS LAST PHASE PROMOTES THE ABILITY TO EVALUATE THE REASONABLENESS AND EFFECTIVENESS OF ATHLETES' RESPONSES TO THE PROPOSED STIMULI, AND TO VERIFY THE CONSISTENCY WITH THE PRINCIPLES OF THE DYNAMIC ECOLOGICAL APPROACH, EMPHASISING THE IMPORTANCE OF EXPLORATION AND PERSONAL ADAPTATION. |

THE EXAM IS DIVIDED INTO AN ORAL EXAM DIVIDED INTO TWO DIFFERENT PHASES. IN THE FIRST PHASE, THE STUDENT WILL HAVE TO DEMONSTRATE A SOLID KNOWLEDGE OF THE THEORETICAL NOTIONS RELATING TO THE DYNAMIC ECOLOGICAL APPROACH, HIGHLIGHTING HOW THESE INFLUENCE LEARNING AND SPORTS ADAPTATION IN VARIOUS ENVIRONMENTS. THE STUDENT WILL NEED TO ILLUSTRATE THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES OF THE APPROACH, SUCH AS THE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN ATHLETES AND THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE INFLUENCE OF THESE ELEMENTS ON SPORTS PERFORMANCE. IN THE SECOND PHASE, THE STUDENT WILL HAVE TO DEMONSTRATE HIS ABILITY TO REASON AND PRACTICALLY APPLY THE THEORIES LEARNED. THIS CAN BE DONE THROUGH THE PRESENTATION OF PAPERS OR CASE STUDIES IN WHICH THE STUDENT HAS SUCCESSFULLY APPLIED THE DYNAMIC ECOLOGICAL APPROACH TO DEVELOP TRAINING PROGRAMS THAT MEET THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF ATHLETES FOR ADAPTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THE STUDENT SHOWS HOW HE OR SHE HAS INTEGRATED INDIVIDUAL, TASK AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSTRAINTS INTO THE DESIGN OF TRAINING PROGRAMS. THE FINAL GRADE IS AWARDED OUT OF THIRTIES AND IS THE AVERAGE OF THE GRADES OBTAINED IN THE TWO PHASES. THE EXAM IS CONSIDERED PASSED WHEN THE SCORE FOR EACH OF THE TWO PHASES IS GREATER THAN 15/30 AND THE OVERALL SCORE IS EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN 18. THE MINIMUM GRADE LEVEL (15) IS ASSIGNED WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES A FRAGMENTARY THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE OR LIMITED ABILITY FOR PRACTICAL APPLICATION. THE MAXIMUM SCORE (30) IS RESERVED FOR STUDENTS WHO DEMONSTRATE A COMPLETE AND IN-DEPTH UNDERSTANDING OF THE SUBJECT AND A REMARKABLE ABILITY TO APPLY THEORIES TO PRACTICAL SCENARIOS. HONOUR IS AWARDED TO STUDENTS WHO EXHIBIT EXCEPTIONAL MASTERY OF BOTH THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL CONTENT AND WHO SHOW THE ABILITY TO PRESENT AND DISCUSS TOPICS WITH PROPERTY OF LANGUAGE AND AUTONOMY OF PROCESSING, EVEN IN CONTEXTS NOT DIRECTLY COVERED DURING THE COURSE. |
