Giulia GIUNTI Curriculum
Giulia Giunti is currently an Associate Professor in General and Applied Entomology (AGRI-05/A), at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Salerno. She graduated in Agricultural Sciences in 2012 at the University of Pisa and she is a former Allieva Ordinaria of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa. In 2016 she discussed her PhD in Agricultural, Food and Agro-environmental Sciences (University of Pisa), investigating chemical ecology in tri-trophic systems and interactions between parasitoids and insect hosts.
From 2016 to 2021, she was research fellow at the Department of Agriculture, University of Reggio Calabria, conducting research in the fields of bioethology and nanotechnology applied to biological control. She was visiting researcher at the University of Jaén (Spain) and the University of Hawai'i at Manoa (HI, USA). She participated to numerous projects characterized by national and international collaborations, and she has national project responsibilities She is currently researching about the formulation and insecticidal activity of botanical nano-biopesticides, as well as secondary and sub-lethal effects towards non-target organisms and pollinators.
She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the journals Insects and Horticolturae and Associate Editor of the journals Crop Protection and Entomologia Generalis. Since 2024, she has been an elected member of the Coordinating Committee of the Section of Agricultural Entomology (SEA) of the Italian Entomological Society (SEI). She authored of more than 40 scientific publications in international journals and more than 60 scientific contributions published in proceedings of national and international conferences, book chapters and educational and dissemination publications.
