OBIETTIVI FORMATIVI THE COURSE CONCERNS THE FUNDAMENTAL LINES OF THE HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE GREEK AND ROMAN WORLD THROUGH THE MAIN TYPOLOGIES RELATING TO ARCHITECTURAL AND URBANISTIC TESTIMONIES, TO PAINTING, TO CERAMICS AND TO SCULPTURE. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE STUDENT WILL ACHIEVE: - A BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL DOCUMENTATION OF THE GREEK AND ROMAN WORLD IN ITS VARIOUS CHARACTERISTICS IN RELATION TO THE CORRESPONDING HISTORICAL PERIODS. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: - IDENTIFY AND FRAME THE MATERIAL PRODUCTIONS IN THEIR HISTORICAL AND ARTISTIC CONTEXT - USE SUITABLE METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS FOR READING AND INTERPRETING THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL DOCUMENT AS AN INSTRUMENT OF HISTORICAL DOCUMENTATION; - REFER THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL MATERIALS TO A TOPOGRAPHICAL, CHRONOLOGICAL AND HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC CONTEXT; - CONNECT POPULATIONS AND TERRITORIAL COMMUNITIES TO HISTORICAL, SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE THE ABILITY TO: THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE THE ABILITY TO: - EVALUATE AND SELECT THE INFORMATION ACQUIRED; - APPLY THE INFORMATION TO A WORKING CONTEXT. COMMUNICATION SKILLS THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: - PUBLICLY REPORT, USING DIGITAL AND TRADITIONAL TOOLS, THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED ALSO IN ENGLISH. LEARNING ABILITY THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: - USE BOTH TRADITIONAL AND DIGITAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS. |

BY ACQUIRING ADEQUATE METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS FOR USING ARCHAEOLOGICAL RECORDS AS SOURCES FOR HISTORICAL INTERPRETATION, IT WILL BE POSSIBLE TO PROVIDE A BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL DATA REGARDING GREEK AND ROMAN WORLD AND TO DEVELOP THE ABILITY TO IDENTIFY AND POSITION MATERIAL PRODUCTIONS IN THEIR HISTORICAL AND ARTISTIC CONTEXT. THE COURSE IS DIVIDED INTO THREE MODULES INCLUDING AN INTRODUCTION TO CLASSICAL ARCHAEOLOGY (METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS AND GOALS). THE THREE MODULES WILL EXPLORE THE ARTISTIC AND ARCHITECTURAL PRODUCTIONS AS WELL AS THE ANCIENT CITY PLANNING. PARTICULAR ATTENTION WILL BE DEVOTED TO HISTORICAL ANC CULTURAL CONTEXTS. MODULE I - ARCHAIC GREEK ARCHAEOLOGY AND ART HISTORY (25 HOURS); MODULE II - CLASSICAL AND HELLENISTIC GREEK ARCHAEOLOGY AND ART HISTORY (25 HOURS); MODULE III - ROMAN ARCHAEOLOGY AND ART HISTORY (25 HOURS). |

-TAUGHT LESSONS (SUPPORTED BY THE USE OF GRAPHIC AND PHOTOGRAPHIC DOCUMENTATION); -PRACTICAL EXERCISES TO DEEPEN THE TOPICS OF THE LESSONS; -VISIT OF MUSEUMS AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL AREAS; -INTEGRATIVE EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS TO BE DEDICATED TO THE DESCRIPTION / READING OF AN ARTIFACT (ARCHITECTURAL, SCULPTURAL, PAINTING EXAMPLES) AND TO THE COMMENT OF PLANTS AND PLANS. THE MAIN BIBLIOGRAPHICAL TOOLS WILL BE PROVIDED AND DISCUSSED DURING THE COURSE, AND THE TOPICS WILL BE EXPLAINED BY IMAGES (POWER POINT) THAT WILL BE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE PROGRAM AND WILL BE THE BASIS FOR EXERCISES AND WORKSHOPS. |
