Giuliana Gorrasi graduated in Chemistry at Faculty of Science of University of Salerno in A.Y. 1993-1994. From November 1995 to October 1998 she did the PhD in Chemistry at the same University. During that time she played six months of research at the JJ Thomson Physical Laboratory of the Physics Department of the University of Reading (UK). The October 1, 2002 she is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Salerno in the scientific sector CHIM 07. Since May 2, 2016, she is Associate Professor in the SSD CHIM 07 (s.c. 03/B2) at the Department of Industrial Engineering. The teaching activitiy regards the teachings of General and Inorganic Chemistry at all Engineering courses, with particular reference to the chemical bases of technology. Hes research activity is focused on the study of the correlation between structural organization and physical properties of polymeric materials, composites and nanocomposites. She is the author of several publications in international peer review journals with high impact factor (www.scopus.com), several book chapters on the invitation of the Editor, 4 patents, and presented original contributions in many national and international conferences. The three papers presented for the evaluation of research activity by the national research agency, relative to the period 2004-2010, were all evaluated excellent. She has numerous scientific collaborations with organizations of domestic and foreign research centers, including: the National Research Council (CNR), the University of Mons (Belgium), the Centre d'Innovation et de Recherche en Materiaux Polymeres CIRMAP (Belgium), the Freiburger Materialforschungszentrum e Institut fur Makromolekulare Chemie der Albert-Ludwigs Universitat (Germany), the IATA-CSIC of Velencia (Spain).
