IT WILL EXPLORE, IN PARTICULAR, THE FOLLOWING TOPICS: THE TWENTIETH CENTURY AS "SHORT CENTURY"; URBANISM AND URBANIZATION; THE TRANSPORT REVOLUTION, THE HISTORY OF THE LEISURE TIME AND THE TRIP FROM THE GRAND TOUR TO THE BIRTH OF MASS TOURISM AND CULTURAL INDUSTRIES; THE HISTORY OF NAPLES THROUGH THE TOURIST GUIDES; THE SOCIAL REALITY OF THE LATE NINETEENTH CENTURY FROM THE BELLE ÉPOQUE TO THE GREAT WAR; WORLD WARS AND THE AGE OF TOTALITARIANISMS; RESISTANCE TO NAZISM AND FASCISM; RECONSTRUCTION AND ECONOMIC MIRACLE; THE TRANSFORMATIONS OF CULTURE AND MENTALITY IN THE SIXTIES AND SEVENTIES OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY; THE EIGHTIES AND THE END OF THE USSR; THE BIRTH OF MASS PARTIES IN ITALY FROM PSI (ITALIAN SOCIALIST PARTY) TO M5S (MOVEMENT 5 STARS).

INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES OVER A PERIOD OF TIME RANGING FROM THE FIFTEENTH CENTURY TO THE COMPLETED REALIZATION OF MODERN INDUSTRIAL AND MASS SOCIETY, WHICH AFFECTS DIRECTLY THE PROBLEMS OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MODERN STATE FOUNDED ON THE RIGHTS OF PEOPLES AND CITIZENS.
Teaching Methods
•CONTEMPORARY HISTORY:

LECTURES, ONLINE ACTIVITIES, AND A SEMINAR "THE TWENTIETH CENTURY IN THE CINEMA." DURING THE SEMINAR WILL BE PROJECTED SCENES FROM THE FOLLOWING FILMS: “IL CASO MORO”, GIUSEPPE FERRARA, (ITALIA, 1986); “LE VITE DEGLI ALTRI”, FLORIAN HENCKEL VON; LA ROSA BIANCA, MARC ROTHEMUND, (GERMANIA, 2005); LE QUATTRO GIORNATE DI NAPOLI, NANNI LOY DONNERSMARCK, (GERMANIA, 2006).

THE COURSE WILL BE ORGANIZED IN BLENDED FORMAT: LECTURES ALONGSIDE STRUCTURED ONLINE ACTIVITIES.
