GENERAL OBJECTIVE: THE COURSE AIMS TO EXPERIMENT AT DIFFERENT SCALES AND ACCORDING TO MULTIPLE AND RELATED INVESTIGATIVE APPROACHES AN ORIENTATION TO THE DESIGN OF CULTURAL HERITAGE AND URBAN LANDSCAPES BASED ON THE PRINCIPLES OF SUSTAINABILITY, RESILIENCE AND ADAPTATION, PROMOTING A REASONED USE OF SOCIAL, ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL. THE INTEGRATED TEACHING MODULES WILL DEVELOP SOME KEY THEMES IN THE FIELD OF KNOWLEDGE, CONSERVATION AND DESIGN OF THE NATURAL AND BUILT LANDSCAPE, EXPERIMENTING WITH ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN TOOLS IN RELATION TO THE ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION APPROACH IN THE CURRENT PANORAMA OF GLOBAL CHALLENGES. IN GENERAL, THE COURSE WILL PROPOSE THE ANALYSIS OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL DESIGN STRATEGIES IN THE CONTEXT OF SETTLEMENTS IN URBAN, PERI-URBAN AND RURAL AREAS, UNDERSTANDING THEIR INTERACTIONS WITH THE BUILT AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT; THE STUDY OF DESIGN, MODELING AND DIGITAL TRANSITION PROCESSES IN THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR; THE ANALYSIS OF THE CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES OF MATERIALS FOR THE CONSERVATION OF EXISTING BUILDINGS AND THE IMPORTANCE OF THE KNOWLEDGE PROJECT; THE EVALUATION OF ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY TO ACHIEVE SUSTAINABILITY AND RESILIENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE BUILT HERITAGE. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: THE STUDENT WILL KNOW THE THEORETICAL, CULTURAL, TECHNICAL AND PRACTICAL ASSUMPTIONS IN THE REPRESENTATION AND MODELING OF ARCHITECTURE, IN THE RECOVERY AND CONSERVATION OF THE EXISTING BUILDING HERITAGE WITHIN THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL REGULATORY FRAMEWORK, IN THE DESIGN AND CREATION OF SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND LANDSCAPES. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: ABILITY TO ANALYZE THE CURRENT CHALLENGES OF ARCHITECTURE IN THE DIGITAL AGE. UNDERSTAND THE POTENTIAL OF THE EXISTING BUILDING STOCK AND ITS CONTRIBUTION TO SUSTAINABILITY OBJECTIVES. ABILITY TO INDEPENDENTLY LEARN ONGOING INNOVATIONS AND TO INDEPENDENTLY DELVE INTO THE COURSE TOPICS ACCORDING TO THE PARADIGMS OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH JUDGMENT AUTONOMY: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE SCIENTIFIC DIRECTIONS AND THE MOST APPROPRIATE METHODS FOR THE REPRESENTATION OF ARCHITECTURE, THE ANALYSIS OF THE EXISTING AND THE DESIGN OF THE NEW. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY AND IN A TEAM TO DEVELOP A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE COURSE TOPICS. LEARNING ABILITY: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO USE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS AND IT RESOURCES FOR THE ANALYSIS OF REFERENCE LITERATURE; CARRY OUT RESEARCH, UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX ARCHITECTURAL, URBAN AND HISTORIOGRAPHICAL PROJECTS AND PROGRAMMES; PROCEED WITH THE CONTINUOUS UPDATING OF ONE'S KNOWLEDGE, USING TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE. |

Teaching Methods | |
---|---|
THE TEACHING INCLUDES THEORETICAL AND LABORATORY LESSONS THAT LEAD TO A CRITICAL READING OF THE PROBLEMS AND METHODOLOGIES RELATED TO THE TOPICS OF THE COURSE, THROUGH THE ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT OF THE STUDENTS ATTENDING. THE ATTENDANCE OF THE LESSONS IS COMPULSORY. THE METHOD OF VERIFICATION OF PRESENCE IS GENERALLY MADE KNOWN BY THE TEACHER AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LESSONS. |
Verification of learning | |
---|---|
THE EXAMINATION TEST IS DESIGNED TO ASSESS THE STUDENT'S ABILITY TO HAVE LEARNED THE BASIC CONTENTS OF THE COURSE. IT WILL BE ESTABLISHED THROUGH AN ORAL INTERVIEW, AT THE END OF THE COURSE, WITH THE PRESENTATION OF THE WORKS, AIMED AT DETERMINING THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL CAPACITY REACHED BY THE STUDENT ON THE TEACHING CONTENTS. FOR THE POSITIVE OUTCOME, IT WILL BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT: - THE QUALITY OF THE EXPOSURE, IN TERMS OF THE USE OF APPROPRIATE SCIENTIFIC LANGUAGE; - THE ABILITY OF TRANSVERSAL CORRELATION BETWEEN THE DIFFERENT TOPICS PROPOSED; - THE AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH DEMONSTRATED. |
