ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE CELL ORGANIZATION, THE STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION OF CELLULAR ORGANELLES, STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION OF THE PLANT CELL; ELEMENTS OF PLANT HYSTOLOGY, ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY ; REPRODUCTION AND ONTOGENETIC CYCLES. ABILITY TO IDENTIFY STRUCTURAL AND FUNCTIONAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN A TYPICAL ANIMAL AND PLANT CELL, AND TO APPLY THE ACQUIRED SKILLS TO THE IDENTIFICATION OF THE MORPHOLOGY OF THE PLANTS ORGANS. ACQUISITION AND COMPREHENSION OF ESSENTIAL DIAGNOSTIC FEATURES TO IDENTIFY PLANTS OF PHARMACEUTICAL, MEDICINAL, LIQUORISTIC AND COSMETIC INTEREST. THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE WILL BE APPLIED TO THE MORPHOLOGICAL IDENTIFICATION OF PLANTS AND DERIVED HERBAL DRUGS. |

Teaching Methods | |
---|---|
PLANT BIOLOGY UNIT THE COURSE OF PLANT BIOLOGY INCLUDES LECTURES WITH THE SUPPORT OF SLIDES PROJECTED. THE ATTENDANCE TO THE LECTURES OF THE GENERAL BIOLOGY COURSE IS MANDATORY. THE TEACHER WILL COMMUNICATE THE MODE OF ATTENDANCE CONTROL IN THE FIRST LECTURE OF THE COURSE. STUDENTS WHO FAIL TO SATISFY THE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT WILL BE REQUIRED TO ATTEND A SERIAL OF INFORMAL TUTORIALS ACCORDING TO THE TEACHER'S INSTRUCTION. PHARMACEUTICAL BOTANY UNIT THE TEACHING METHOD IS BASED ON LECTURES IN WHICH THE TOPICS OF THE SCHOOLING ARE PRESENTED AND DISCUSSED WITH SLIDES PROJECTED AS GUIDE FOR THE STUDENT AND ON SEMINARS OF MONOGRAPHIC TOPICS. LECTURES WILL BE CONDUCTED THROUGH THE AID OF A POWER POINT SUPPORT. IT IS PLANNED TO SHOW PRESENTATIONS FULL OF PICTURES, GRAPHS AND DIAGRAMS THAT ENABLE MAXIMUM UNDERSTANDING AND SYNTHESIS OF THE TOPICS COVERED. BASED ON ACADEMIC REGULATIONS, THE ATTENDANCE TO THE LESSONS OF PHARMACEUTICAL BOTANY TO BE CONSIDERED MANDATORY, THE PROCEDURES FOR VERIFICATION OF THE FREQUENCY WILL BE COMMUNICATED TO STUDENTS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LESSONS. |
Verification of learning | |
---|---|
PLANT BIOLOGY UNIT: THE EXAMINATION CONSISTS OF A WRITTEN (30 MINUTES) AND AN ORAL TEST (30 MINUTES), TO BE SUSTAINED IN THE SAME EXAM SESSION. THE RATING IS X/30. TO PASS THE WRITTEN TEST WITH A SCORE OF 18/30 IS MANDATORY TO ACCESS TO THE ORAL TEST, AND REACH THE FINAL GRADE. THE WRITTEN TEST IS MANDATORY TO ACCESS TO THE ORAL TEST AND CONSISTS OF OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONS (HAS A DURATION NOT EXCEEDING 40 MINUTES). DURING THE COURSE, THE STUDENT ALSO HAS THE POSSIBILITY TO CARRY OUT 2 PARTIAL TESTS. THE PASSING OF THE PARTIAL TESTS MAY EXEMPT FROM THE PERFORMANCE OF THE WRITTEN TEST. THE EXEMPTION APPLIES EXCLUSIVELY TO THE EXAMINATION SESSION IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TEACHING SESSION. PHARMACEUTICAL BOTANY UNIT: THE EXAMINATION CONSISTS OF AN ORAL TEST (45 MINUTES) DURING THE COURSE, THE STUDENT ALSO HAS THE POSSIBILITY TO CARRY OUT 1 OR 2 PARTIAL TESTS. THE QUESTIONS WILL BE DEALT WITH IN THE COURSE PROGRAM AND ARE AIMED AT VERIFYING THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND THE PROPOSED PROBLEMS AND THE ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE THEM IN WRITING . THE STUDENT WILL BE ASKED TO DISCUSS THE MAIN TOPICS OF THE COURSE, TRYING TO DEMONSTRATE CRITICAL THOUGHT AND AWARENESS OF THE STRUCTURE OF THE FIELD OF STUDY. |
