Objectives
PHYSICS (9 CFU, 72 HOURS);
THE COURSE IS AIMED AT THE ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE MAIN PHYSICS MODELS AND OF THE ASSUMPTIONS ON WHICH THEY ARE BASED, OF THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND APPLY THESE MODELS TO REAL CASES, EVALUATING THE RELIABILITY OF THE RESULTS OBTAINED IN CONNECTION WITH THE MEASUREMENT ERRORS AND THE LIMITS OF VALIDITY OF THE MODELS THEMSELVES.
THE STUDENT, APPLYING THE ACQUIRED SKILLS, WILL BE ABLE TO FORMULATE MATHEMATICAL MODELS OF NATURAL PHENOMENA, TO UNDERSTAND THE ASSUMPTIONS OF WHICH THE MODELS ARE BASED, AND TO APPLY THE EXPERIMENTAL ACTIVITY.

MATHEMATICS (3CFU, 24 HOURS): THE COURSE IS THE FIRST TEACHING MATHEMATICS; IT DESCRIBES AND EXAMINES ELEMENTS OF MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS RELATED TO THE STUDY OF PHYSICS AND NATURAL SCIENCES.

Teaching Methods
PHYSICS:
TEACHING IS CONDUCTED THROUGH LECTURES AND EXERCISES. DURING THE LECTURES THE MAIN ARGUMENT, RELATED TO THE COURSE CONTENTS, ARE DISCUSSED. THE EXERCISES ARE CARRIED OUT BY THE TEACHER AT THE BLACKBOARD WITH THE DIRECT INVOLVEMENT OF THE STUDENTS AND THEIR PURPOSE IS TO VERIFY THE ABILITY TO APPLY TO THE BASIC AND ADVANCED CONCEPTS OF PHYSICS.
ATTENDANCE TO COURSES HAS TO BE CONSIDERED MANDATORY ON THE BASIS OF MANNER DEFINED BY THE TEACHERS AND ACCORDING TO THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE COURSE. ABSENCES WHICH MAY AFFECT THE ACQUISITION OF THE STATED EDUCATIONAL GOALS SHOULD BE OVERCOME BY CUSTOM ACTIVITIES PREPARED BY THE TEACHER.
Verification of learning
THE EXAMINATION ARE INTENDED TO VERIFY THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE AIMS OF TEACHING. ABOUT THE PHYSICS MODULE, THE EXAMINATION IS DIVIDED IN A WRITTEN AND IN AN ORAL TEST. THAT HAVE TO TO CARRY UP IN THE SAME SESSION. THE WRITTEN TEST IS NECESSARY IN ORDER TO CONDUCT THE ORAL TEST, AND TO ACHIEVE THE FINAL VOTE. THE WRITTEN TEST IS MADE UP OF 16 QUESTIONS WITH MULTIPLE ANSWERS BLOCKED. IN THE ORAL TEST STUDENTS WILL ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT THE COURSE CONTENTS.THE FINAL SCORE IS MADE BY THE SCORE OBTAINED IN THE WRITTEN AND IN THE ORAL TEST. THE WRITTEN AND THE ORAL TEST CHECK THE LEVEL OF LEARNING, KNOWLEDGE OF PROPER TERMINOLOGY, CAPACITY OF ANALYSIS AND OF EXPOSURE, SUITABILITY OF LANGUAGE. THE VERIFICATION PROCEDURES ARE CONSIDER ADEQUATE IN RELATION TO THE OBJECTIVES OF TEACHING, AND EVEN TO THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS EXPECTED.


THE FINAL EXAM CONSISTS OF A WRITTEN TEST AND AN ORAL TEST WITH AN EVALUATION IN THIRTIETHS, UP TO A MAXIMUM OF THIRTY-THIRTY AND PRAISE. EACH TEST IS CONSIDERED PASSED IF AT LEAST WITH 18/30 AND EACH WRITTEN TEST MUST BE PASSED TO HOLD THE ORAL TEST. THE PURPOSE OF THE EVALUATION IS THE VERIFICATION OF COMPETENCES AND THEIR QUANTIFICATION. THE CANDIDATE WILL BE EVALUATED WITH A FINAL WRITTEN TEST LASTING 2 HOURS, CARRIED OUT FOLLOWING THE OPEN STIMULUS TYPE WITH A CLOSED ANSWER, TO WHICH THE ORAL DISCUSSION IS ASSOCIATED. THE FINAL WRITTEN TESTS WILL CONSIST OF 8 TO 10 QUESTIONS, EACH OF WHICH WILL BE MARKED BY THE CANDIDATE'S ASSESSMENT, WHICH WILL BE CALIBRATED ACCORDING TO THE COMPLEXITY OF THE QUESTION IN THE GENERAL ECONOMY OF THE TASK.
THE ORAL TEST CONSISTS OF A DISCUSSION OF THE DURATION NOT EXCEEDING ABOUT 30 MINUTES, AIMED AT ASCERTAINING:
• THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE OF THEORETICAL CONTENTS (AND APPLICATIONS, IN THE CASE OF ERRORS PRESENT IN THE WRITTEN TEST OR OF SIGNIFICANT UNRESOLVED EXERCISES)
• THE LEVEL OF COMPETENCE ACHIEVED IN THE EXHIBITION: LANGUAGE PROPERTIES, LOGICAL-DEDUCTIVE AND SYNTHESIS CAPACITY, ABILITY TO ARGUE, AUTONOMY OF JUDGEMENT IN PROPOSING THE MOST APPROPRIATE APPROACH TO ARGUING WHAT IS REQUIRED.

THE EXAM IS PASSED WHEN THE RESULTS OF THE INDIVIDUAL MODULES ARE SUFFICIENT (> 17/30) AND THE FINAL VOTE, EXPRESSED IN THIRTIETHS, IS CALCULATED WITH THE AVERAGE WEIGHTED BY THE CFU OF THE ASSESSMENTS OBTAINED IN THE INDIVIDUAL MODULES.
