GENERAL OBJECTIVE. THE COURSE AIMS TO ALLOW THE STUDENT TO: - DEEPEN AND EXPAND THE STATE OF KNOWLEDGE INHERENT MODELS AND METHODS FOR THE RISK ANALYSIS OF ROAD INFRATRUCTURES, AS WELL AS OF TUNNELS. - DEEPEN AND EXPAND THE STATE OF KNOWLEDGE RELATING TO THE ANALYSIS, PLANNING AND DESIGN OF TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS IN RISK SCENARIOS WITH A VIEW TO USERS’ SAFETY. - EXPAND THE STATE OF KNOWLEDGE RELATING TO E MODELS TO TECHNIQUES FOR THE ANALYSIS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND TERRITORIAL RISKS IN URBAN SYSTEMS AND FOR ADAPTATION THROUGH URBAN PLANNING TOOLS. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING. THE STUDENT: - WILL ACQUIRE SKILLS AND UNDERSTANDING MODELS AND METHODS FOR THE ANALYSIS OF TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS AND ROAD RISK. - WILL ACQUIRE SKILLS AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE CRITERIA FOR THE ANALYSIS, PLANNING AND DESIGN OF TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS IN RISK SCENARIOS FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF USER SAFETY. - WILL ACQUIRE THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND TERRITORIAL RISKS ANALYSIS MODELS IN URBAN SYSTEMS AND THE CRITERIA FOR IDENTIFYING MITIGATION AND ADAPTATION MEASURES. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING. THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: - APPLY KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED TO PREDICT ROAD ACCIDENTS, AS WELL AS TO QUANTIFY THE RISK LEVEL IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE IN ROAD TUNNELS. - APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED TO MITIGATE IMPACTS IN TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS AT DIFFERENT TERRITORIAL SCALES THROUGH THE USE OF PLANNING AND DESIGN TOOLS. - APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED TO MITIGATE ENVIRONMENTAL AND TERRITORIAL IMPACTS IN URBAN SYSTEMS THROUGH THE USE OF URBAN PLANNING TOOLS. MAKING JUDGEMENTS. THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: - IDENTIFY THE MOST APPROPRIATE MODELS AND METHODS FOR A QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF ROAD RISK. - IDENTIFY THE MOST APPROPRIATE MODELS AND METHODS FOR ANALYSIS, PLANNING AND DESIGN IN RISK SCENARIOS AT DIFFERENT SCALES. - IDENTIFY THE MOST APPROPRIATE MODELS AND TECHNIQUES FOR MITIGATING AND ADAPTING ENVIRONMENTAL AND TERRITORIAL RISKS IN URBAN SYSTEMS. COMMUNICATION SKILLS. THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: - EXPOSE THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED AND MODELS AND METHODS APPLIED TO THE ROAD RISK, ALSO INTEGRATING MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACHES. - EXPOSE THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED AND THE MODELS AND METHODS APPLIED TO RISK SCENARIOS IN TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS AT DIFFERENT SCALES, ALSO INTEGRATING WITH INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACHES. - EXPOSE THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED AND THE MODELS AND TECHNIQUES APPLIED TO ENVIRONMENTAL AND TERRITORIAL RISKS, ALSO INTEGRATING WITH INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACHES.
