Objectives
THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS BASIC KNOWLEDGE ABOUT GENERAL METHODS OF INTERPRETATION, ANALYSIS AND PRESENTATION OF DATA; OF THE TYPES OF QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS AND OF THE MAIN METHODS, TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES USED IN MODERN QUANTITATIVE ANALYTICS.
THE STUDENT APPLYING THE ACQUIRED SKILLS WILL BE ABLE TO CHOOSE AND APPLY THE MOST APPROPRIATE METHOD FOR THE SOLUTION OF REAL ANALYTICAL PROBLEMS.

Prerequisites
YOU MUST ACQUIRE THE OBJECTIVES CONCERNING THE FOLLOWING DISCIPLINES: GENERAL AND INORGANIC CHEMISTRY, PHYSICS, MATHEMATICS. MOREOVER, THEY ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THE ACQUISITION OF THE OBJECTIVES OF ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY.

Teaching Methods
THE COURSE CONSISTS IN 80 HOURS (10 CFU) DIVIDED INTO 60 HOURS OF CLASS AND 20 HOURS OF LAB EXPERIENCES (8 EXPERIENCES, 2.5 HOURS EACH), WITH MANDATORY ATTENDANCE. EVERY TWO WEEKS WILL BE CARRIED OUT CLASS EXERCISES CONCERNING THE TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THE PREVIOUS LESSONS.
TO ACCESS THE EXAM A MINIMUM OF THE 80% OF LABORATORY ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED FOR STUDENTS, WHILE THE CLASS ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY.
Verification of learning
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE COURSE OBJECTIVES IS CERTIFIED BY THREE FOLLOWING TESTS. THE FIRST ONE CONSISTS IN A LABORATORY TEST CONCERNING THE TITRATION OF A SPECIFIC CHEMICAL COMPOUND.
THE SECOND ONE IS A WRITING TEST COMPOSED BY 5 DIFFERENT ANALYTICAL PROBLEMS AND THE CORRECT RESOLUTION OF AT LEAST THREE PROBLEMS IS REQUIRED. THE LAST TEST IS A 20 MINUTES ORAL TEST AIMED TO ENSURE THE STUDENT’S KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL TOPICS. THE ORAL TEST IS ALSO AIMED TO VERIFY THE COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE SKILLS. THIS LAST TEST COULD BE ALSO ADMINISTERED IN WRITING TEST FORM, DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS
