Objectives
THE COURSE IS AIMED TO THE ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION, THROUGH THE USE OF CHEMICAL AND PHYSICO- CHEMICAL TECHNIQUES, CLASSICAL AND INSTRUMENTAL, OF THE ORGANIC ACTIVE SUBSTANCES, WITH PARTICOLAR ATTENTION TO MENTIONED ITALIAN AND EUROPEAN PHARMACOPOEIA SUBSTANCES. AT THE END OF THE COURSE, THE STUDENT MUST DEMONSTRATE KNOWLEDGE OF LABORATORY EQUIPMENT AND THEIR USE, METHODS OF INTERPRETATION, ANALYSIS AND PRESENTATION OF DATA. ABILITY TO PERFORM THE MAIN LABORATORY OPERATIONS (FILTRATION, TITRATION, SPECTROSCOPIC-CHROMATOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS) IN ORDER TO SELECT THE MOST CORRECT METHOD FOR SOLVING THEORETICAL/PRACTICAL ANALYTICAL PROBLEMS FOR QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION.
Prerequisites
THE STUDENT MUST HAVE PASSED THE GENERAL AND INORGANIC CHEMISTRY, PHYSICS AND MATHEMATICS TEST.
IN ADDITION, THE ACQUISITION OF THE ORGANIC CHEMISTRY COURSE AND A BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND COMPUTER SCIENCE ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

Teaching Methods
THE TEACHING CONSISTS OF 96 HOURS OF LESSONS (10 CREDITS) DIVIDED INTO 48 HOURS OF LECTURES (6 CREDITS) AND 48 HOURS OF EXERCISES AND LABORATORY (4 CREDITS). LECTURES WILL BE HELD EVERY TWO WEEKS, FOCUSING ON SOLVING CALCULATION EXERCISES REGARDING THE TOPICS COVERED IN CLASS. IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE EXAM, THE STUDENT MUST TAKE AT LEAST 75% OF THE LABORATORY EXERCISES.
Verification of learning
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE COURSE OBJECTIVES SHALL BE CERTIFIED BY PASSING A FINAL TEST WITH ASSESSMENT IN THIRTIES. THE TEST IS DIVIDED INTO THREE PROGRESSIVE AND SCHEDULED PHASES. FOR ACCESS TO THE NEXT STAGE IT IS MANDATORY TO PASS THE PREVIOUS TEST.
THE FIRST TEST CONSISTS OF PASSING THE UNKNOWN LABORATORY TEST THAT CONCERNS THE RESOLUTION OF AN ANALYTICAL PROBLEM HAVING ITS SUBJECT TOPICS COVERED IN THE PRACTICAL EXERCISES.
THE SECOND TEST CONSISTS IN THE RESOLUTION OF FIVE CALCULATION EXERCISES, TO PASS THE TEST THE CORRECT RESOLUTION OF AT LEAST THREE PROBLEMS IS REQUIRED. THE WRITTEN TEST HAS A DURATION OF TWO HOURS.
THE THIRD PHASE CONCERNS THE PASSING OF AN ORAL EXAM THAT INCLUDES A DISCUSSION OF C. AT 20 MIN. AIMED AT ASSESSING THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING REACHED BY THE STUDENT ON THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENT INDICATED IN THE PROGRAM, AND VERIFYING COMMUNICATION SKILLS, LANGUAGE PROPERTIES AND ORGANIZATION OF THE ARGUMENT EXPOSURE
