Objectives
OBJECTIVES

THE COURSE "DIDACTICS AND SPECIAL PEDAGOGY" AIMS TO PROMOTE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONCEPT OF INCLUSION AND THE CRITICAL REFLECTION ON THE POSSIBLE PEDAGOGICAL AND DIDACTIC PATHS FOR EMPOWERING THE ROLE OF THE BODY IN THE ESUCATIONAL OUTCOMES OF PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL EDUCATION NEEDS.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
BY THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE DISCIPLINE, WITH A SPECIFIC FOCUS ON COGNITIVE, METACOGNITIVE, EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL SKILLS OF PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS.

APPLIED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
BY THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO:
- APPLY AND INTERPRET THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED TO ENSURE A PROFESSIONAL APPROACH IN TEACHING, TO SOLVE THE COMPLEX PROBLEMS EMERGING FROM THE INCLUSIVE PROCESS OF STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS;
- INTEGRATE THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED TO MANAGE THE COMPLEX INCLUSIVE DYNAMICS, SHOWING AUTONOMY IN JUDGEMENT, AND ETHICAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN THEIR EVALUATION.

THE COURSE WILL DEAL WITH THE EDUCATIONAL-INCLUSIVE PERSPECTIVE OF MOTOR AND SPORTS ACTIVITIES WHICH INVOLVE THE BODY DIMENSION FOR THE IDENTIFICATION OF EFFECTIVE STRATEGIES TO SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS.
THE MODULE "SPECIAL DIDACTICS" (PROF. PAOLA AIELLO) WILL FOCUS ON THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
- SPECIAL LEGISLATION AND EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES
- TOWARDS AN INCLUSIVE CURRICULUM
- UNIVERSAL DESIGN FOR LEARNING
- COOPERATIVE LEARNING
- METACOGNITIVE TEACHING STRATEGIES
- TECHNOLOGIES FOR INCLUSION

THE MODULE "SPECIAL PEDAGOGY" (PROF. DIANA CARMELA DI GENNARO) DEALS WITH THE CONCEPT OF INCLUSION OF STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS.
THE MODULE CONCENTRATES ON THE THEORY THAT UNDERPINS THE PARADIGM OF INCLUSION AND DEALS WITH THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:
- HISTORY OF DISABILITY;
- INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTS AND LAWS ON DISABILITY AND INCLUSION;
- DISABILITY MODELS;
- THE CONCEPT OF INCLUSION;
- THE CONCEPT OF SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS;
- CONTRIBUTIONS OF DIFFERENT AUTHORS TO SPECIAL PEDAGOGY.
Teaching Methods
THE 60-HOUR COURSE (30 HOURS FOR “SPECIAL DIDACTICS” AND 30 HOURS FOR “SPECIAL PEDAGOGY”) WILL INCLUDE LECTURES USING POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS AND GROUPWORK.

Verification of learning
FINAL ASSESSMENT IS BASED ON AN ORAL EXAM AIMED AT ASSESSING THE SKILLS AND UNDERSTANDING ACQUIRED BY THE STUDENT. THE TEST WILL CONSIST OF A MINIMUM OF THREE QUESTIONS. THE EVALUATION IS EXPRESSED OUT OF 30. THE MINIMUM EVALUATION LEVEL (18/30) IS ATTRIBUTED WHEN THE STUDENT SHOWS SUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE OF THE COURSE CONTENTS AND A LIMITED ABILITY IN COMMUNICATING THE KNOWLEDGE MASTERED.
THE MAXIMUM LEVEL (30/30) IS ATTRIBUTED IF THE STUDENT SHOWS A COMPLETE KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONTENTS AND THE ABILITY TO ARGUMENT USING THE APPROPRIATE LEXIS.
