Pierluigi MAZZEI Curriculum
PIERLUIGI MAZZEI is currently Associate Professor of Agricultural Chemistry at DIFARMA of the University of Salerno. He obtained the ANVUR national qualification as Full professor In November 2023. He is member of several and prestigious Italian and International Scientific Societies, such as International Humic Substances Society (IHSS), Italian Society of Agricultural Chemistry (SICA) and Interdivisional Group of Magnetic Resonances (GIDRM). He is the author of more than 70 papers published on international scientific journals (SCOPUS AUTHOR IDENTIFIER; ORCID AUTHOR IDENTIFIER)
Associate editor for the journal "Chemical and Biological Technology in Agriculture (SpringerOpen)" and, from 2012 to the present, he served as reviewer for more than 45 manuscripts submitte to prestigious international journals such as Scientific reports - Nature portfolio, Environmental science and technology, Plants, PlosOne, Food Chemistry, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Langmuir, European Journal of Soil Science, Catalysts, Metabolites, European Journal of Soil Biology, Applied soil Ecology, Marine Drugs.(PUBLONS AUTHOR IDENTIFIER)
Starting from 2007 to date, the main investigated research lines concern (i) soil organic matter (structural and conformational investigations using advanced analytical techniques - interaction studies with molecules of agrochemical interest - structure-activity relationship) (ii) NMR-based Metabolomics to study the effects induced in plants and in agricultural products by either abiotic stress or experimental treatments (iii) development of innovative hydrogels based on waste biomasses and exploitable for agriculture (iv) structural characterization and application of unknown and bioactive metabolites of microbial origin.
2020. Commission member for the final exam for the title of PhD in Agricultural and Agri-food Sciences at the University of Naples Federico II.
2018-present Associate Professor of Agricultural Chemistry (AGR / 13), Department of Pharmacy, University of Salerno. He is the holder of the courses "Soil Chemistry and Fertility" and "Laboratory of Chemical Analyses in Agriculture", at DIFARMA, and "Pedology", at the Department of Chemistry and Biology Adolfo Zambelli of the University of Salerno.
2016-2017 Teacher of the course for doctoral students "Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) applied in life sciences" provided by the PhD School "Sustainable agricultural and forestry systems and food safety" of the University of Naples Federico II.
