THE GENERAL OBJECTIVE IS TO LEARN, THROUGH THE STUDY OF MANUALS AND THEORETICAL TREATISES AND VERIFICATION ON CONCRETE EXAMPLES, THE METHODS AND BASIC TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE FOR UNDERSTANDING AND ANALYZING THE ORGANISM BUILDING - TRADITIONAL AND MODERN - FROM A CONSTRUCTIVE, FUNCTIONAL AND MORPHOLOGICAL POINT OF VIEW. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE STUDENT WILL KNOW THE METHODS AND TECHNIQUES FOR UNDERSTANDING AND ANALYZING THE ORGANISM TRADITIONAL AND MODERN BUILDING, FROM A CONSTRUCTIVE, FUNCTIONAL AND MORPHOLOGICAL POINT OF VIEW. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: KNOW HOW TO RECOGNIZE AND ANALYZE AN EXISTING BUILDING, THROUGH STUDIES ARCHIVE AND GEOMETRIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL SURVEYS, UNDERSTANDING THE NATURE AND TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DIFFERENT CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS; BEING ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THE STRUCTURAL SYSTEM AND THE PROBLEMS INHERENT TO THE BUILDING ENVELOPE. AUTONOMY OF JUDGEMENT THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO INDEPENDENTLY EVALUATE THE TECHNICAL-CONSTRUCTIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF TRADITIONAL AND MODERN BUILDINGS, ALSO IN RELATION TO THE HISTORICAL AND GEOGRAPHICAL CONTEXT. COMMUNICATION SKILLS THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO WORK IN A GROUP IN DEVELOPING THE ANALYSIS OF AN EXISTING BUILDING OR PARTS OF IT AND HOLD CONVERSATIONS ON THE PROBLEMS INHERENT TO THE TOPICS COVERED, USING SCIENTIFIC TERMINOLOGY AND ADEQUATE GRAPHIC REPRESENTATION TOOLS. LEARNING ABILITY THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED AND BE ABLE TO INDEPENDENTLY LEARN INNOVATIONS IN THE FIELD OF CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES AND BUILDING MATERIALS. |

Teaching Methods | |
---|---|
THE TEACHING INCLUDES THEORETICAL LESSONS AND EXERCISES IN THE CLASSROOM. THE THEORETICAL LESSONS LEAD TO A READING OF TECHNOLOGY, THROUGH THE COGNITIVE AND TRANSFORMATIVE PROCESSES OF CONSTRUCTION. IN THE CLASSROOM EXERCISES THE STUDENTS, DIVIDED BY WORK GROUPS, ARE ASSIGNED A THEME TO BE DEVELOPED, ALSO THROUGH EXTERNAL INSPECTIONS. THE THEME INCLUDES ALL THE TEACHING CONTENTS AND CONSISTS OF THE HISTORICAL, GEOMETRICAL, TECHNOLOGICAL AND FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS OF AN EXISTING BUILDING, THROUGH THE ELABORATION OF TECHNICAL REPORTS AND GRAPHIC TABLES AND ANY SIMPLIFIED MODELS. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. IN ORDER TO TAKE THE FINAL EXAM, THE STUDENT MUST HAVE ATTENDED AT LEAST 70% OF THE TEACHING HOURS. THE MODE OF VERIFICATION OF PRESENCE IS GENERALLY ELECTRONIC OR MADE BY THE TEACHER AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LESSONS. |
Verification of learning | |
---|---|
THE EXAM IS TO ASSESS THE STUDENT’S ABILITY TO LEARN THE BASIC CONTENTS OF THE COURSE. THE VOTE, EXPRESSED IN THIRTIETHS WITH POSSIBLE PRAISE, WILL DEPEND ON THE MATURITY ACQUIRED IN THE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPOSURE. IT WILL BE ASSESSED THROUGH AN ORAL INTERVIEW AIMED AT ASCERTAINING THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ACHIEVED BY THE STUDENT ON THE CONTENT, AS WELL AS VERIFYING THE ABILITY TO TELL BY USING APPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY AND THE ABILITY TO AUTONOMOUSLY ORGANIZE THE EXHIBITION. THE INTERVIEW CONSISTS OF TWO PARTS: A) AND B) PART A) PROPOSES THEORETICAL QUESTIONS ON ALL THE TOPICS OF THE COURSE AND ON THE RECOMMENDED BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES, AS WELL AS ON VISITS, INSPECTIONS AND ANY SEMINARS CARRIED OUT. PART B) PROPOSES THE DISCUSSION OF THE PROJECT, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL ANALYSIS. THE HIGHEST GRADE IS AWARDED TO THE STUDENT WHO DEMONSTRATES EXCELLENT ABILITY TO RELATE THE TOPICS OF THE COURSE, IN A THOROUGH TECHNICAL MANNER, WITH AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT, MASTERY OF TECHNICAL LANGUAGE, SKILL IN THE GRAPHIC RESTITUTION OF CONSTRUCTIVE ELEMENTS, AS WELL AS FOR THE QUALITY OF PRACTICE PAPERS. THE MINIMUM GRADE LEVEL IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES SUFFICIENT ORIENTATION TO THE VARIOUS TOPICS AND HAS KNOWLEDGE LIMITED TO THE BASICS. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE PRAISE WE WILL TAKE INTO ACCOUNT: - THE QUALITY OF THE EXHIBITION, IN TERMS OF USING APPROPRIATE SCIENTIFIC LANGUAGE - THE QUALITY OF THE DRAWINGS - THE ABILITY OF CROSS-CORRELATION BETWEEN THE DIFFERENT TOPICS OF THE COURSE - OF THE AUTONOMY OF PROVEN JUDGMENT. DURING THE COURSE IT IS POSSIBLE TO CARRY OUT A PARTIAL TEST, ONLY AFTER HALF OF THE LESSONS AND AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER, WHICH WILL WEIGH 50% ON THE FINAL GRADE. THE EVALUATION OF THE TEST WILL BE EXPRESSED IN THIRTIETHS. IF THE FINAL SCORE IS HIGHER THAN 18/30 THE STUDENT, AT THE FINAL INTERVIEW, CAN BE CONSIDERED EXONERATED FROM THE DISCUSSION ON THE TOPICS COVERED IN THE FIRST SEMESTER. THE EXONERATION WILL BE VALID EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE EXAMINATION SESSION FOLLOWING THAT OF THE TEACHING. |
