Objectives
THE LABORATORY ACTIVITY AIMS TO INTEGRATE STUDENTS' TRAINING BY PROVIDING USEFUL TOOLS FOR THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE OF ANCIENT COINS, PARTICULARLY ON THE METHODOLOGIES USED FOR A CORRECT DOCUMENTATION, READING AND INTERPRETATION.
THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE WILL BE USEFUL FOR STUDENTS TO TACKLE OTHER DISCIPLINES, BUT ALSO TO INTEGRATE THEIR TRAINING TO BE SPENT IN SUBSEQUENT STUDY PATHS OR PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF ANCIENT HISTORY AND ARCHAEOLOGY
Contents
THE COURSE IS BASED ON THE PRACTICE OF CLASSIFICATION OF GREEK AND ROMAN COINS, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THE STUDENT WITH THE TOOLS FOR THE CORRECT IDENTIFICATION OF COINS, THE RULES FOR THE SET UP AND FILLING OF NUMISMATIC RECORDS, AND THE CRITERIA FOR GO TROUGHT THE MAIN NUMISMATICS CORPORA.
BASIC TOOLS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THE ANALYSIS OF COIN FINDS FROM ARCHAEOLOGICAL CONTEXTS AND MUSEUM COLLECTIONS. A PART OF THE LABORATORY WILL FOCUS ON THE DIGITAL DOCUMENTATION OF THESE CULTURAL HERITAGE.
Teaching Methods
THE LABORATORY ACTIVITY IS FOCUSED ON PRACTICAL EXERCISES WITH THE DIRECT ANALYSIS OF MATERIALS.
